2020 brought many changes. It wasn’t exactly as planned. Here’s something new for me.
I am finishing up an online course by a very talented artist Meredith Woolnough Artist. She has written a book on Organic Embroidery.
I started her online course, Sculptural Embroidery, using her Free Motion Embroidery FME techniques, but then attempted to recreate the look and organic feel in digitizing embroidery designs to stitch on my machines. Here is my final class project of a 3D lemon in realistic size and a 10 inch cross section. I’m excited to keep going with this and create more, first more fruit and then other ideas.
As a side note, Meredith is an excellent and encouraging teacher. Her class was everything I hoped and more.

Announcement from It Takes a Stitch

To my cherished friends, customers, and colleagues,

This announcement for 2020 comes with very mixed feelings. Some changes are coming to It Takes a Stitch—it’s the end of one era and the beginning of a new one.

The business as you know it is being scaled back. This isn’t retirement, it’s more like a sabbatical. There are many reasons for the change, but now is the time. While I have loved all the wonderful people and interesting work this job has brought me, it doesn’t leave much time or energy for anything else (and all that extra attention to my health throughout 2019 didn’t help).

So, what am I going to do? Exciting personal and creative professional projects are on the horizon. I’m looking forward to catching up on some things that have been sent to the back burner for too long. It Takes a Stitch’s focus is changing to a more artistic direction—more details to come later. Updates will be posted on my website and page.

Thank you to everyone I've worked with over the years, it has been a joy. If you need to transition to a new embroidery provider, I will try to help where I can.

After years of telling people that my mother could become ill and die anytime, it finally happened. My 108 year old mother finally left us to join her husband 40 years after he died. The illness was short and painless, the final breath so very peaceful, in her own home. The services were a great big party in her honor, celebrating her remarkable life. We could not have asked for anything better. Thank you to everyone who offered their support and condolences.
I still have a few medical issues of my own to attend to in the next 2 months, along with a short vacation at the end of September. So, It Takes a Stitch will have an irregular schedule through October. Please call or email to check availability. Thank you, all, for your patience during the past months.

Happy New Year from It Takes a Stitch!
You haven’t heard much from me lately, so first I want to say thank you for your patience.

I’ll be brief and share the good news. Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays were great! The rest of December and January, not so much.

1. I successfully managed various health issues during December only to be down with a nasty virus in January. I’m finally starting to feel like myself and able to get some work done.
2. My computer seems to be working properly now, after hours with Dell phone and on-site support,
3. End of year bookkeeping and clean-up is moving along.

I’m declaring February 1, 2019 the official beginning of 2019 for It Takes a Stitch! Emails inquiries will be answered, appointments will start to be scheduled, orders are beginning to stitch again.

Looking forward to working with you.
Regina

Oh wow! I haven't checked in much lately, I know. I have been busy filling lots of orders and there's always more to do. I love my clients. The production schedule is essentially full from now through most of November and into December. This includes recurring orders. The cut off for Christmas orders will prob
ably be necessary in early November. Please check with me on availability and turnaround times.

Hello and Happy Summer!
Here’s what’s going on at It Takes a Stitch at the beginning of August 2018.

It’s been a very busy time here. I’m happy for all the orders and confidence in my work, but there just seems to be more than I can get done in a reasonable time. A couple long term projects that have taken a back seat have to be completed in addition to the regular repeat items, all those special things for my returning individuals, and a few new exciting projects. Unfortunately, I’ve also had to turn away some new folks who need things done in less time than is available or want priority.
My production schedule is essentially full from now until October. This includes recurring orders. Please check with me on what kind of turnaround is possible from now until October.

In order to complete current projects and take a some days to refresh,
It Takes a Stitch will officially be CLOSED Wednesday, August 8 through Monday August 13, 2018.
Open August 14 through September 12, 2018.
CLOSED Thursday, September 13 through Wednesday, September 26, 2018.
See ItTakesAStitch.com for most current updates.
Thank you!
Regina

Did you know that f***y packs were back in fashion? This was a fun order for a Bachelorette weekend. We incorporated the poppy theme from the wedding invitations.
