🌿 KIPOS Website Launch! 🌿

KIPOS Botanicals® has always had that “made-with-love” magic—rooted in Konstantina’s Greek heritage and her lifelong relationship with herbs. The brand really took shape after a pivotal moment: a radiation oncologist noticed how her handmade salves were transforming his patients’ skin. That little nudge turned her craft into KIPOS Botanicals®.

Her products have always had soul. Her website… just needed a bit of a glow-up. ✨
So our team jumped in and:
• Refreshed the brand identity
• Rewrote all the copy for clarity, warmth, and story
• Reshot the complete product line
• Rebuilt and migrated the entire site from the ground up
• Tuned up her e-commerce and email.

Now her digital home finally feels like stepping into Konstantina’s garden—grounded in tradition, crafted with intention, and designed for a smooth journey from first click to checkout.

Happy Mother's Day. I started Design Powers in 1996 because I knew that one day, I would like to have children. At the time, I was commuting to a design firm downtown and working 45-55 hours a week, then commuting home. I remember thinking that if I had kids, I wouldn't see them as much as I'd want to in my current work scenario.

Fortunately, graphic design was suited to working from home, even though it was practically unheard of. Now that my kids are grown, I'm so glad I made that decision and had the support of my spouse. It was the best choice for our family.

That's what freedom is—the ability to make your own choices. Thanks to all the women and men who support them, who came before me, and who afforded me choices to be a mom and a business owner.

Congratulations to our client, Ann Wilson Homes, for 20 years in business. It is not an easy feat, to be a top agent year in and out, of the residential real estate business in the competitive Northern Virginia market. Ann isn't only a client; she's been a really good friend and has helped my hubby, Stephen Powers and me buy a home and manage our rental property. We couldn't have done either without AWH. It may be several years old, but it still rings true. Working on spec undermines your confidence. The transaction of receiving what you earned and what your work is worth brings satisfaction. We also don't create for logo contests. We will do pro Bono work, but there are always set parameters that decide what and when before embarking on that.

Happy Friday Indeed! There is nothing better than heading into the weekend with the knowledge that our client Move Forward Virtual Assistants is thrilled with the website we just launched yesterday. Jennifer and Meredith are so impressive, creative and fun to work with.

Admittedly, I don't celebrate our wins as much as I should. But 2022 was not an easy year.

My niece, Emily, who has worked with me for 7 years, lost her father, my sister's ex-husband, unexpectedly and tragically in the spring.

Needless to say, it changed me. I have more empathy, patience, compassion, and gratitude.

Every day I'm grateful to:
✅ be healthy and have a supportive husband and family;
✅ work with both my niece and my daughter;
✅ live in a safe, stable environment;
✅ and finally, to work with clients and consultants who are enthusiastic, understanding, and kind.

For the first time ever, we wrote A Year in Review... it's an honor and a privilege to take stock of our accomplishments, to thank our clients and to wish you a Happy New Year.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our clients and look back at all we've accomplished together in 2022!
