What would you do if the organization that had managed your association for decades gave you 18 months to find a new path forward?

In this episode of Associations Thrive, host Joanna Pineda talks with Angela Davis, CEO of the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR), and Yasmeen Fields, CEO of the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) about how they navigated exactly that challenge. They share how they evaluated different management models, built new operational capabilities, decided what to keep in-house and what to outsource, and learned not to overcommit during a major transition. 🎙️ Listen to hear their lessons on leading through significant organizational change while continuing to support staff and serve members.

Every year, FMI- The Food Industry Association delivers valuable insights about the food retail industry through its U.S. Grocery Shopper Trends report. This report educates grocery stores and grocery manufacturers about shopper in-store habits, shopper motivations, what shoppers think of the store experience, and what shoppers think of the online store experience.

A key takeaway: Shoppers value the in-store grocery experience more than ever and expect stores to deliver many of the conveniences they've grown accustomed to online.

Each year, Matrix Group partners with FMI to create microsites for its signature research. This year, FMI gave Matrix Group brilliant, mind-bending creative direction: a theme centered around M.C. Escher and the "evolving perspective" of the modern grocery shopper.

Many thanks, as always, to Kelli Windsor, Olivia Dale , Steve Markenson, Heather Garlich, Matthew McKinney, Bianca R., John Lezcano, David Fikes, Morgan Griffin, Kara Adams, CAE, Debbie Walyus, and Carol Abel, for their direction and collaboration.

Shout out to Jessica Parsley, PMP for managing this project on the Matrix Group side, and Seil Lee for interpreting FMI’s vision and designing a mind-bending, but user-friendly microsite.

Migrating an entire website to a new CMS is like Ikea furniture: All the pieces are there, but some serious assembly is required.

We recently wrapped up an exciting project with the Wisconsin Credit Union League to move their website from Sitefinity over to WordPress. Our team – Zac, Heidi, Jai, John, Dave, and Page – rolled up their sleeves to tackle this massive content migration, rebuild the design and page architecture, and integrate single sign-on (SSO) for their users.

A big shout-out to The League’s Sammy Dennis for your teamwork on this project, and congratulations to The League on the successful move!

Dave Hoernig, VP of Software Engineering at Matrix Group, recently caught up for lunch with Ray Van Hilst, VP of Strategy at Yoko Co.

Back in May, Dave joined an incredible panel on website redesigns and CMS considerations organized by Ray at the ASAE MMC+T Conference. We might be competitors, but we’re always down to collaborate, especially over a great meal. Cheers to power lunches and shared insights!
