Results from the October 8th feeder calf sale. We ended up with more than expected having 971 head average $2155 each. Thank you to all the buyers and sellers. 83 steers weighing 559 lbs bring $387.00. 154 steers weighing 655 bring $351.00. I want to congratulate all of the sellers for the overall quality of the cattle. The next feeder sale is November 12th. Let us know if you need tags.

Feeder Calf sale results for September. 588 head averaged $2137.02 per head. We had two straight loads that highlighted the sale. 657 lb steers at $349.50 and a load of 755 lb steers at $329.50. Most cattle had a premium of 15-30 cents versus unweaned cattle this week. Our cattle were all weighed within 30 minutes of arrival. Some were coming straight off the trailers to the scales. 1% shrink is only 5-10 lbs per head depending on the weight. Standing in a sale barn is 2% the first hour and 1% per hour after that. So our 1% shrink is the best weigh up around for our producers. If anyone has any questions give us a call. Thank you to all the buyers and sellers. The next graded feeder sale is October 8th. The herd is here for tomorrow. We will start selling them at noon. Everything will be 2nd and 3rd stage pregnancies. They have been on a full vaccination program. They are gentle and would make great receipts for anyone looking for some. Let us know if we can help you out with anything.

Next Wednesday September 2nd we will have 120 bred cows from one farm. The cows will be predominantly English cattle bred in the second and third stage. Cows will range from 3-8 years old. They will weigh from 1100 - 1400 lbs. I will post pictures and videos by Monday when they arrive. Before then if I get the opportunity. As the market was a little easier this week, you can take advantage of our monthly graded feeder calf sale. The next one is September 10th. Weaned cattle will start separating themselves from unweaned cattle as we go into the fall weather changes. We appreciate all our buyers and sellers. Thank you for your business. August Feeder Calf sale results from Thursday night. 672 head averaged $2176.74 per head. The market is a good bit softer this month with JBS and Tyson both announcing the closure of two big processing plants. The Mexican border also opens August 24th. Looks like for now the packers are back in control of the market. We are anticipating really hot temperatures this next week. Be careful out there. Full results at the link below:
