We are thrilled to present the second solo show at the ACE / FRANCISCO Gallery for Frances Thrasher aka Heaven4theYoung: THE UNCANNY VALLEY.

Frances will present all-new works in oil, watercolor and ceramics on October 16th from 6PM to 9PM with light bites provided by Big City Bread Cafe.

Frances has had a very busy three years since her 2022 sold out solo show at our gallery— with her work presented in The Lyndon House 50th Juried Exhibition, curated by Michael Rooks / Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the High Museum in Atlanta, and in the Southworks OCAF Juried Exhibition, curated by Savannah’s Telfair Museum Curator, Erin Dunn— along with a Badge of Honor awarded for the animated film she made for Patterson Hood's new song, “The Pool House,” at the Berlin Music Video Awards. Her widely discussed album cover art for Hood’s new solo release, Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams garnered media coverage in the January 2025 issue of UNCUT in the UK with a spread about her work entitled “Teenage Lobotomy,” along with further discussion of her album art in Americana UK, Magnet Magazine, Forbes, Pitchfork, Flagpole, and more. Frances also spent part of this past summer traveling in Spain, studying the work of Gaudi, which inspired her most recent work in ceramics.

Mark your calendars: August 14th at 6PM. The next event at the Ace / Francisco Gallery to celebrate Terry Allen’s photography exhibition-- PASSENGER SIDE-- will be the New Town R***e with special guest David Lowery of Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven who will perform music from his new solo album Fathers, Sons and Brothers. David will also be doing a reading of some of his latest short stories, and then Terry Allen Photography and Jason Thrasher will be having a short conversation about Terry's life, travels and photography.

Doors open at 5:45 and show starts at 6PM short and sweet, limited seating-- see you there!

And don't forget to also check out Terry's show PASSENGER SIDE in the Main Gallery after the show, plus Grace Lang and Mason Pearson's show THE NUCLEAR AGE in the Upper Gallery.

About the Artists:

TERRY ALLEN
Terry is a photographer based in Athens Georgia, specializing in music, country sport lifestyle, landscape, and street photography. He photographed the early Athens and Atlanta music scenes, and managed major label rock band Dreams So Real. His camera has taken him to many parts of the world for jobs and adventures. His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Spin, Covey Rise, Town and Country, and Garden and Gun among others.

GRACE LANG
Grace captures angles that are rarely seen and humanity that is often overlooked. Her photos give the audience a chance to see with her eyes, granting them a vivid, deep connection with her work.

MASON PEARSON
Mason is an OG Skate Park of Athens kid. From learning how to roll in on his bike, to becoming one of the most stylish rippers at the park on a bike or a board, attitude and power radiate from his riding. He’s truly an All Terrain Ripper. BMX Rider. Skateboarder. Photographer Extraordinaire. Mason is currently in Europe on Tour photographing The Pink Stones as they rage their way through the EU. Everything Mason does, he does 100%.

The completed phase one of Athens Grindline Skateparks park was "born" the same year as the Thrasher’s first daughter. So this place is really near and dear to the whole Thrasher fam.

THIS WEEKEND at the Ace / Francisco Gallery inside Thrasher Photo & Design LLC :

Artist Cecilia Hutchinson Reynolds will be holding Gallery Hours this Saturday, March 29th from 1230PM to 530PM at 675 Pulaski Street, Suite 1500 of the The Leathers Building - Athens GA

Come on by and meet Ceci whose mixed media work created in Cortona, Italy is on view in the Upstairs Gallery. You can also see the large paintings by Louise Haynes Hall downstairs in the Main Gallery. Jason Thrasher and Beth Hall Thrasher will be there off and on throughout the day, and later for yoga!

Bring a mat and stay for Yin Yoga a 6PM with Kayla Carnes... only two more weeks of Yoga in the Gallery, for now.

This will be a great Saturday in the gallery!

Join us for the Third Thursday Art Walk in Athens at The Leathers Building - Athens GA Suite 1500 from 7PM to 9PM to visit with Jason Thrasher and view the Murmur Trestle work featured in the University of Georgia Press new book of the same name. Plus, in our upstairs gallery, you can see the work of Tobiah Cole, Grit Portraits.

The Ace / Francisco Gallery would normally be open at 6PM for Third Thursday, but we are taking our Clarke Central High School Work Based Learning senior Elise, plus past Ace / Francisco Gallery artist, Heaven 4 the Young, to hear the talk at the The Georgia Museum of Art theater, given by artist Tokie Rome-Taylor. So let's go hear the talk, then meet back at the Ace / Francisco Gallery right after-- or you can visit Tigers Eye Gallery right next door in the Leathers Building, to see the work of Colman Barks, while you wait for us to open--

This will be a great night for art in Athens, Georgia!
