This spot is on prime urban land: directly in front of Ponce City Market and just off the East Side Beltline. For the latter reason, I almost always arrive in this area via bike or ebike, but today my lightly-driven car needs service, so here I park.
The cost? $0. This means that as a non-car-parking customer of the businesses in Midtown Place, from Whole Foods to Home Depot, I've subsidized the "free" spaces for everyone who arrives via car. And this goes for everyone who arrives via bike, ebike, scooter, transit, or on foot.
I think requiring drivers to pay their own way is an entirely reasonable stance if we want a vibrant, dense city.
