I treat myself to ice cream on Fridays🍦

I get it from my Pops who’s a big ice cream fan. When we were kids, my parents would always get us treats when we got things done. And the tradition continues!

This week I’m celebrating the new members of Growthtrackers. It’s an incredible group of entrepreneurs, creators and leaders who offer tremendous value in their work and just need easier, efficient and effective ways to connect others to it!

We’re kicking off next week setting up the foundations of how to think about your growth levers. We’ll identify opportunities and then plan some small bets to make. Are you missing out on the magic of podcasts for growing your biz? ✨

I did my first podcast interview back in 2014. Podcasts were pretty new still and I didn't think much about what I wanted to get out of the interview. But even so, it led people to reach out about my expertise. Podcasts have been some of the most longlasting marketing I've ever done, with people continuing to reach out years after an episode was published.

I wish I had known then what I know now!

Recently, I met Brigitte Lyons of Podcast Ally who traded her PR career to start her own podcast agency because she was blown away by the results podcasts get. Brigitte and her team line up podcasts interviews for all kinds of entrepreneurs.

I love to see so many of my entrepreneur and freelance friends take it easy this summer. They're doing things like taking Fridays off, going on more trips, and taking social media hiatuses. These past two years have been a roller coaster. It's good to build in some space for joy and reflection.

This is the benefit of working for ourselves! We can decide what to do with our hours, days, and months. It's a gigantic privilege and one I'm grateful for every single day.

For the last six years or so, if I wasn't working for money, I was working on community projects. I'm finding more balance this year which has been really, really needed.

This photo is from one of my favorite places the LA County Fair. humored me with a visit before I left LA. I love the fair because there are no meetings or to do lists or deadlines. Just cotton candy and hot tubs.
