We've been exploring the importance of "knowing who you are talking to" and today we celebrate Myrna Daramy. She is an excellent example of knowing and connecting with her target customer.

Myrna's goal is to help you "Build the Best Version of your Digital Brand to make the most of your online presence, using the right tech, tools, and digital optimizations" that connect you to your target audience.

Myrna is often called the "Oprah of Tech" because she's great at simplifying tech-speak and translating complex, mind blowing topics into what can be understood by business owners even if they aren't tech savvy.

She helps her clients "overcome the overwhelm of tech" I love this! Who hasn't felt overwhelmed by tech at some point in their lives? Myrna has found language that resonates with her customer and I have experienced first hand that she DELIVERS on her promise.

Give it some thought, how can you tap into how your customer is feeling and give them the confidence you can relate to their situation? This will help you answer the question... "Who am I talking to?" Really.

When we are communicating about our product...in advertising, in social, on our website, do we know who you are talking to? Really?

Marketing is a story and to tell our story well, it’s important we know WHO we are telling our story to... intimately.

Here are 3 simple tips to defining our customer:

1. Get to KNOW them: What is their age, demographic, geography, and more.

2. Seek to UNDERSTAND them: What mindset are they in when buying your product? What do they value? What are their priorities?

3. How will your product or service HELP them?

By focusing on our customers first, we can better talk about our products. Let’s invite them into the story. Our customer should feel like “they so get me” & “they understand me.”

So let’s take the time to know WHO we are talking TO - not just WHAT we are talking about.

Before you invest your money... invest your time! Here is a link (link in bio) to a worksheet with questions to help you answer the most important question of all “Who am I talking to?”

This week, we ask the question "Who do you think you're talking to?"

Do you have a great product or service, but find it challenging to create a marketing message that resonates? When crafting your message, it's important to start with a very simple question, who are you talking to? We must know our customers, deeply. It's only then, that we can create a message that inspires them to take action.

The better we know our customer, the clearer our message will be. If we try to speak to "everyone and anyone," we risk creating a vanilla message that speaks to no one.

Here are some questions to consider when creating your marketing message:

1. Start with the basics, what is their demographic? Things like.. Age, Life Stage, Geography
..but let's go further

2. What mindset are they in when considering the product or service you sell?

3. How can your brand make their life better? What problem are you solving or how are you making things better FOR them?

Be on the lookout this week for a downloadable worksheet to help you answer the question, "Who am I talking to?"

It takes courage to launch a business, especially during a pandemic.

My pal did just that. 💪

For parents who want to keep their kids off of devices for a bit and inspire creative play, check out the Swingly Doorway Playhouse. It's a space-saving playhouse that's designed to fit within your doorway. The 5 designs are awesome, but I must say, the Camper Food Truck is my fave. 😍

Want to support a AND make some progress on your holiday shopping?

Be sure to give her a follow and check out her Kickstarter. Make a pledge to secure a Doorway Playhouse for the kiddos in your life.

TIP: When reading your marketing message, you want your potential customer to walk away and say "Wow, they really get me! They understand my problem and can help me solve it."

BONUS TIP: Use your customers' language and words - don't get too technical or talk like an insider. Keep it simple!

Be on the look out this week for more tips on how to bring this to life. We will provide some additional tips, worksheets, and celebrate female founders who deeply understand their customers and how their messaging reflects this.
