They matter more than you think.

Not because people are impatient —
but because they’re busy.

They’re scanning for clarity.

• Who is it for?

If that’s not clear right away, they’re likely gone before they even see the rest.

Here are 5 things we believe a strong website should do:

1. Say who you are — fast.
Make it clear what you do and who you help, within seconds.

2. Build trust as they scroll.
From visuals to testimonials, everything should feel intentional and reassuring.

3. Make the next step easy.
Whether it’s booking a call or joining your list — it should be obvious and simple.

4. Reflect the value of your work.
Your site should look and feel like the experience you actually deliver.

5. Do some work for you.
Answer common questions. Pre-qualify leads. Warm people up. Even while you sleep.

→ If your site isn’t doing all 5 yet — that doesn’t mean you need a rebuild.
Just a few thoughtful changes can make a big difference.

There’s a difference between saying “we help business owners”
and knowing exactly what kind of person you’re best at helping.

We’ve been on both sides of this.

Sometimes a brand looks great, but it takes a minute to figure out what they actually do.
Other times, it’s crystal clear — and you know right away if it’s for you.

That clarity isn’t just about sounding clever.

My wife and I went to this Italian spot the other night, and I can’t stop thinking about how good the whole experience was.

Yeah, the food was great—but it was more than that.

They clearly don’t want to be the typical Italian restaurant. It felt more like you were having dinner at someone’s house (in a good way).

The young woman who greeted us totally set the tone—super chill, friendly, and just made us feel comfortable right away. Even though the place looked nice and put-together, the vibe was relaxed. She explained how things worked since they do a few things differently (like you grab your own silverware on the way in).

Later, the owner came by and talked with us for a bit—also really kind and laid back.

You can tell they’ve thought through how they want people to feel there. And honestly, it worked. We’ll definitely be back.

I’ve always believed that collaboration makes us better.
Not just creatively—but personally, too.

Sabrina Alexander and I have been working together for nearly 20 years.
Across dozens of brands. Strategy sessions.
Plenty of moments where we helped each other figure things out.

So when it came time to rebrand her agency, she asked us to lead the project.
And that meant a lot.
Not because we got to “do the work”—
but because they trusted us to help.

Creative work can feel like you're in your own head too much.
You overthink, second guess, tweak endlessly.

But when someone else steps in—someone you trust—
the clarity comes faster. The vision gets sharper.

That’s what this project reminded me of:
we don’t have to do it all ourselves.
And often, it turns out better when we don’t.
