At Carter Media Group, we don’t just tell stories—we step into moments that demand accountability and help shape the narrative that drives justice forward.
On January 31st, inside Morehouse College’s Forbes Arena, something happened that should never occur—especially within the walls of a historically Black institution built on legacy, leadership, and the pursuit of excellence. A decorated basketball coach had his civil rights violated in full view, turning what should have been a moment of competition into a moment of injustice.
As Atlanta natives and advocates rooted in this community, we recognize the weight of that moment. Institutions like Morehouse are held to a higher standard—not just because of their history, but because of what they represent to generations of Black leaders. When that standard is broken, silence is not an option.
That’s why today, alongside a powerhouse legal team, we are helping amplify a message that is both clear and necessary: this cannot—and will not—be ignored.
The lawsuit filed is not just about one coach. It is about setting a precedent. It is about ensuring that no institution, no matter how storied, is above accountability. It is about restoring dignity, protecting civil rights, and making it unmistakably clear that this kind of treatment is inexcusable anywhere—especially here.
Morehouse must take responsibility. Coach Taylor deserves to have his name, his reputation, and his legacy fully restored. And he deserves to be made whole.
At Carter Media Group, we stand firmly with Coach Taylor, his family, his players, and the legal team fighting on his behalf—because justice isn’t just something we talk about.
It’s something we help deliver.

This is why Carter Media Group exists.
To fight for justice.
Today we stood with the family of Jada West, a 12-year-old who died after repeated bullying.
Now the conversation shifts to solutions:
transparency in bullying investigations, accountability for schools, and real consequences when systems fail our kids.

Six years ago today, Ahmaud Arbery was chased down and killed while jogging.

25.

Unarmed.

Simply running.

For 74 days, there were no arrests.

Public pressure forced accountability.

At Carter Media Group, we understand this truth: conversations move systems. Strategy amplifies movements. Justice doesn’t happen by accident — it’s demanded.

Behind every headline is a grieving family.

Behind every movement are activists who refuse to be silenced. Some of the most important work happens out of sight — protecting dignity while pushing for change.

No child should grow up in a country where jogging is a death sentence.

We honor Ahmaud’s life. We honor his family. And we remain committed to shaping conversations that drive justice.

in 1870, the 15th Amendment was ratified. It stated that the "right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude." However, Southern states implemented poll taxes, literacy tests and other tactics to combat this amendment, keeping African Americans from the polls until 1965 with the passage of the Voting Rights Act. Statement from Attorney Gerald Griggs:

Our client remains deeply disturbed and upset by the manner in which he was treated and violated yesterday. To have this incident unfold in front of his players, his family, and members of the Tuskegee community was not only humiliating, but heartbreaking.

At all times, my client was acting responsibly and with safety in mind.

What should have been a routine and orderly conclusion to a sporting event instead became an unnecessary and dangerous encounter. This matter is being taken very seriously, and we are reviewing all available options to ensure accountability and to protect my client’s rights.

Today, Carter Media Group had the honor of watching our founder, Dontaye Carter, inspire the next generation of leaders at Hillside Elementary’s Career Day—and wow, what a moment it was!

Dontaye didn’t just talk about public relations. He shared his journey as one of the less than 1% of Black men in the U.S. who owns a public relations firm—and one that’s earned multiple international awards. His story is living proof that vision, grit, and purpose can break barriers and build legacy.

But he didn’t stop there. He spoke about one of his proudest accomplishments: co-writing the children’s book My Daddy and Me with his daughter Kyleigh. It’s a celebration of fatherhood, love, and the power of storytelling—and the kids were captivated.

In a room full of bright young minds, Dontaye reminded every student that their dreams are valid, their voices matter, and representation isn’t just important—it’s transformational.

We’re proud to be led by someone who lives his message:
Break barriers. Tell bold stories. Inspire the future.

: Why Representation in Communications Matters

In the public relations and communications industry, the numbers tell a story:

- 80% of PR professionals are White.
- Only *8% are Black.
- Hispanic professionals make up 6%, and Asian professionals account for 6%.
- Everyone else—including Native American, Pacific Islander, and mixed-race professionals—makes up less than 1%.

For decades, the stories that shape public opinion, represent brands, and influence culture have been told through a lens that doesn’t fully reflect the diversity of the world we live in.

At Carter Media Group, we know the power of storytelling. We understand that every voice matters, especially the voices that have been historically excluded. That’s why we exist—not just to craft messages, but to rewrite the narrative.

For me, this work is personal.

I grew up in a single-parent, working-class household, facing odds that said I wouldn’t make it. The statistics for Black boys like me didn’t paint a hopeful picture. But I made a promise to God when I was 9 years old: If You get me through this, I’ll do my best to make sure no other child, especially no other Black boy, has to endure what I did.

That promise is what fuels my work.

Representation isn’t just a checkbox—it’s a necessity. It’s about ensuring that the voices shaping our communities look like our communities. That the people behind the messages understand the cultures they’re speaking to.

At Carter Media Group, we’re building bridges. We’re amplifying Black voices, creating opportunities for diverse professionals, and challenging an industry that still has a long way to go.

Here’s what I want you to know: Your voice matters. Your story matters.Whether you’re a small business owner, a nonprofit leader, or a brand with a big vision, we’re here to help you tell your story in a way that connects, inspires, and transforms.

Because when we tell our stories, we don’t just change perceptions—we change lives.

Let’s keep breaking barriers. Let’s keep rewriting the narrative.
