Life Lesson from Charles Schulz

The following philosophy below is that of Charles Schulz, creator of the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.

Just read and ponder on the questions. You don’t have to actually answer them. Just read it straight through, and you’ll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade’s worth of World Series winners.

So, how did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.

These are no second-rate achievers.

They are the best in their fields.

But the applause dies.

Awards tarnish.

Achievements are forgotten.

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here’s another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money or the most awards. They simply are the ones who care the most. Their actions will show it.

In a time of great hardship a star appeared brighter than the rest, giving us hope that God is with us, that no matter the depth of the darkness Gods love shines in the night.

When God revealed himself to us, he did so through a family.

Which is why I speak to you today of Joseph, the forgotten man of the Christmas story.

We know much about Mary and, of course, the Christ child, but the Bible
makes few references into the life of Joseph. Therefore, he remains
somewhat of a mystery, much as many of our own fathers do.

But we do know that Joseph was a gentle father and a courageous man.

He saved his family from Herod by taking them on the dangerous journey to Egypt, taught his son his own trade, as fathers do even today.

Joseph died before Jesus grew up to become a man and begin his ministry.

Yet Joseph still believed. “Blessed are those who believe “that He will bind up the brokenhearted and free the captives.”

At his best, a father is the solid foundation of a house, his support taken for granted.

At other times he may need shoring up himself.

He may be tired, he may be impatient, he may be mired in his own problems.

But always, the father looks beyond the here and now. He keeps one eye trained on the next generation.

So, out of necessity, he is a man filled with hope—hope that a knowing God watches over the universe; hope that justice will prevail; hope that we will be reunited with our loved ones.

As Saint Paul said, “Abide by these three: faith, hope and love.

The greatest of these is love.” So, when we give thanks to the Father for our blessings, let us not forget Joseph, or our own fathers, that they not be forgotten this Christmas.

May God bless you and Merry Christmas!

Life Lesson - A reminder
During a prank, a student stuck a paper on his classmate's back that said "𝗜'𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗱", and asked the rest of the class not to tell the boy.
Thus the students began laughing on and off...
Came afternoon math class started and their teacher wrote a difficult question on the board.
No one was able to answer it except the boy with the sticker.
Amid the unexplained giggles, he walked toward the board and solved the problem.
The teacher asked the class to clap for him and remove the paper on his back.
She told him: "It seems that you don’t know about the paper your classmate has pasted on your back."
Then the teacher looked at the rest of the class and said:
"Before I give you a punishment, let me tell you 2 things:
First, throughout your Life, people will put labels on you with many nasty words to stop your progress.
Had your classmate known about the paper, he wouldn't have gotten up to answer the question.
𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻, 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳."
"Second, it’s clear that he doesn't have any loyal friend among you all to tell him about the sticker.
It doesn't matter how many friends you have - it is the loyalty you share with your friends that matters.
𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲."
Ignore the labels others give you…

Life Lesson #6005
In every challenge there are two rivals...belief and doubt.

Doubt has a bigger team.
Belief is outnumbered, but never outworked.

And when the score is settled, belief rises to the top! And that is no doubt!
