A new report from the Out of Home Association of America suggests that OOH ads drive strong in-person outcomes like store visits as well as measurable digital impact across website visits, app downloads, and other conversion actions. The study shows OOH campaigns delivered a median lift of 20% for in-person outcomes and 14% for digital outcomes, exceeding the TV ad campaigns studied during the same period. “The channel is no longer just about reach and awareness," said Anna Bager, President and CEO of OAAA. "It is a powerful driver of real-world and digital outcomes, with a measurable impact that stands up against other major media channels.” OOH to digital action outcomes show 5.3x conversion rate increase from 1 to 10 ad exposures — outperforming all other media types measured.
According to the report:
😎 "OOH’s passive, contextual nature means repeated exposures build consideration without irritation — a true competitive value. Each encounter reinforces the message in a real-world environment."
📆 "The study highlights a recurring seven-day cycle in consumer response, where conversions resurface on a weekly basis following ad exposure."
🔎 "In individual large-scale QSR studies, OOH is observed preceding Search 96% of the time and Social 94% of the time, illustrating how last-touch attribution masks OOH’s role in generating lower-funnel demand and action."
