Let’s say you want to be proactive about finding and nurturing leads on LinkedIn.

Start by typing the name of a specific role and/or a company, or simply search the terms separately if you’re casually browsing for outreach candidates.

But let’s say you’re trying to find someone in a role at a particular company but you’re not 💯% who you’re looking for.

Simply go to the “People” tab of any given company page. You’ll then be presented with a list of potential contacts with job titles and relevant connections front-and-center.

Before blindly sending connection requests, double-check those titles prior to outreach.

Bear in mind that you’ll likely want to “follow” a profile of an outreach candidate rather than connecting outright.

Following someone will send them a notification akin to a connection request minus your contact having to accept it.

Every sale is a journey. Before you become a customer, whether you realize it or not, you go through an intentional and planned sales funnel.

A sales funnel consists of the different stages a customer goes through leading up to their purchase.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲:

1. reading an article
2. joining your group
3. watching a webinar
4. attending a workshop

The key here is to realize that not everyone is at the same point.

It's your job, as a technology , to give your prospects fuel to move along the funnel toward a purchase.

I spent 30 years in the technology industry so have the battle scars. I always looked at my counterparts in other and always felt that we were always having to change our & strategy.

I’ve boiled it down to 3 reasons:

𝟭. The selling landscape is changing rapidly & few can keep up.

It was changing already. Now with the market conditions, this has sped the shift. We now have social selling and thought leadership.

2. Identify the current state (aka problem). What problem are you solving? What are your customers’ current situations?

3. Identify their desired state. Where do they want to go? Why?

4. Articulate the vehicle (aka your service or product) that takes them from state one to state two.

5. Provide evidence that the vehicle works. Evidence is key! People are going to call BS on your claims all day. It’s just a natural default state of humans to have a default response to a new claim and call bu****it.

6. And then the last thing it needs to do is articulate a clear reason why your vehicle is the best way to travel from state one to state two.
