How much food do you waste a year?
Shockingly, food takes up more space in landfills than anything else! Yet many people go hungry.

This is an impactful campaign to make us think twice about food waste. Malnutrition labels on trash cans, dumpters and garbage trucks. We can do better, and in doing so, help feed the world.

It’s Earth Day. What can you do to help?

Much as it took me decades to work a daily flossing habit into my routine, it has taken me years to even think about lugging reusable bags into the grocery store.

What made the difference? I considered just how many plastic grocery bags I was responsible for bringing home each year. The number was huge! Likely more than you realize. And how hard is it to grab a couple of canvas totes out of the car? Not hard at all; the key was remembering.

So what was one of my favorite Christmas gifts this year? A large boxy reusable carrier that’s as chic as it is functional. It stays open for easy loading and allows for efficient packing. Yay! My only issue now is convincing the grocery store baggers that I’m not a weight-lifter!

Happy Earth Day! May we all adopt a few sustainable habits to protect the planet we love.
