Think about the last time you purchased a product or service from someone that you follow on social media? What was the motivating factor for you spending with them?
In most cases, we spend time online with and buy from people that they know, like, and trust. That's why it's important to prioritize content that sparks engagement over content that promotes your product or service. I know for some of you that's a difficult concept to accept, but if you think about the way the "algorithm" across all platforms we know that it prioritizes accounts that have more comments, likes, and shares than not.
So, as you gear up for 2022, and are looking for ways to "beat" the algorithm organically I encourage you to keep a few things in mind when planning your social media calendar.
✅ Share experiences that your audience can relate to.
✅ Make your followers feel like they're a part of your journey.
✅ Use questions and poll stickers in stories (you can use these features to ask about everything from a favorite song to what color tee should be added to your website.)
✅ Share your expertise on a relevant topic and ask your followers to weigh in.
The reality:
The possibilities for sparking engagement are endless, and it may take a while to see the desired results so remember to use the insights feature to track the performance of the posts and to identify the posts that work, that will be the content that you need to create more of!
