I normally refrain from sharing much personal sentiment online, but this past weekend was an unbelievably rewarding emotional roller coaster. Here’s why:

Back in high school, if you’d asked me to photograph a wedding, my answer would’ve been a simple “no.” But over the past few years, as I’ve watched friends, family, and acquaintances tie the knot, a thought began to grow — what if?

What if I tried wedding photography?

Funny enough, one of the people you see in the photos above — Madison — was actually one of my first customers. She asked me to be her photographer for her senior portraits, just a few months after I started my first business, Original Image.

After sending her those photos, she joked about me photographing her wedding one day — whenever that day might come.

Fast forward to this year, when Madison reached out asking if I’d photograph her wedding to Gareth. It took a bit of convincing (mostly to myself), but something told me it was the right time to say yes.

Having known Madison for years, and getting to know Gareth more recently, it’s clear the two are connected by more than rings and vows. Their love is genuine, effortless, and grounded — they’re each other’s biggest fan, ride or die, and safe place.

Capturing their day was an honor I’ll never forget. Thank you, Madison and Gareth, for trusting Nathaniel and me to preserve such a timeless moment.

Their ceremony was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever witnessed—tucked under a willow tree, surrounded by family and friends.
