We are safe, but our community is rocked to its core by the shootings last night. 16 people will not return home to their families. 13 are still fighting for their lives.

If you can, give blood, no matter where you live. Call or write you leaders and tell them we need better gun control. Hug your friends and families.

So as many of you may have read recently, the award for the worst article about Maine in 2022 was given to Cindy Adams of the New York Post. So I could not resist and googled the so called article.

As a person who’s career revolves around promoting Maine tourism I was prepared to be totally pi**ed off. Then this former New Yorker remembered…it’s the Post and it’s Cindy Adams (90+yo gossip columnist who lives in Doris Duke’s former Park Avenue Penthouse and owns one of those obnoxious little dogs). In other words, who cares.

I would be more worried if she loved it and found her people here. Add to that, that she got more facts wrong in this 300-ish word article than the former president. And just listing places and things to do does not make an article. I question highly whether she actually even visited. Maybe she was actually in a recovery facility for those with elevated cases of their own self importance.

Maine is very layered, like a parfait. There is an experience for almost everyone. There is no one Maine experience. And if the low rent Joan Rivers didn’t find one that fit her, all the better.

Episode 2 of the new season is truly a love story for Maine. While he does many of the touristy things, he does them with such respect and reverence. I recommend watching (and visiting Maine).
