Our embroidery pricing. It can be so confusing !

Here's a quick breakdown. We price it by location. Why ? Because, some articles/garments get embroidered in more than one spot. So, for example, you have 10 hats and they get one logo on the front and one on the side. That's 20 embroidery locations for that order, making them $7.50 per location, or $15 per hat. But what if one of the logos has 9000 stitches instead of 8000 or less ? That's an extra $10 . ( $1 per thousand over 8000, so $1 x 10 hats )

Pretty simple, really, once you get it. Of course, we'll gladly help. 🙂

Happy Monday morning all !

LOGOS, LOGOS, LOGOS...

I've recently seen a number of people in our area creating new logos. Congratulations on your need for a business, band, or other logo, and best of luck !

With the invention of simpler to use graphics programs, the ability for a relative novice to create beautiful and intricate artwork has become pretty common. We often have people bring us newly created highly detailed logos that look great in digital or print media.

However, from a position of experience, a few words to the wise. KEEP IT SIMPLE, and here's why.

Arguably, the best logo ever created is an upside down "W" meant to represent an M, and every human under the age of 12 can spot it from 5 miles away when traveling the interstate and start bugging parents for chicken nuggets. Simple, recognizable.

The second best is a check mark with a rounded end that represents, on its own, absolutely nothing. But everyone immediately recognizes it as a popular brand of shoes and clothes, from any distance.

The third best is a fairly simple "VH" with "wings" on either side, representing the band Van Halen. Simple, and recognizable to anyone regardless of their musical taste.

My rule of thumb for a good logo is one that you can see from at least 15 feet away and at least recognize, even if you can't yet read it. Phone numbers, websites, email addresses....save all that for your business cards or your digital ads. People don't need to see all that on a t-shirt or a hat, and they're generally not gonna read it off those things anyway.

There is also the matter of cost. Embroidery pricing is effected by stitch count, and embroidery quality is much better with a less detailed logo than one that has tiny lettering or small details. Screen print pricing is effected by number of colors, and the comfort of the garments themselves gets pretty bad when you have to have layer upon layer of print coloring. KEEP IT SIMPLE !

Have a great day all, hope this information helps, and best of luck on your new venture !

In embroidery, the blanket stitch is used in several ways: to create an edging, create a surface embroidery stitch, or to applique elements in place. This stitch is most often worked using open half-loops of stitching.

Although having employee work shirts embroidered with their names can be an upfront expense, it may ultimately save your company money in the long run. This is especially the case if you have employees prone to losing their name badges.

One major benefit to modern embroidery technology is its speed. In the past, working even a simple logo or design into a piece of fabric by hand could take a week or more. With the help of computers and robotic machinery, the same design can be worked in just a few minutes.

Once your design has been turned into a computer file, and the fabric has been prepared, it is time for the embroidery machine to take over. Depending on the size and the amount of colors in the design, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour to complete the process.

Although most embroidery is created using conventional cotton, polyester, or silk thread, some embroidery designs use special materials like metallic thread, metal strips or squares, beads, sequins, or semi-precious stones.

One of the best things about family gatherings like reunions, anniversaries, or birthday parties is the memories that are created. Consider providing custom-embroidered shirts or accessories to preserve the memory and give everyone a fun souvenir to remember the day.
