Freedom for enslaved people in Texas was officially announced on June 19, 1865, by Union troops in Galveston Bay, leading to the celebration of "Juneteenth."

I have been celebrating Juneteenth since 2021. However, I’ll admit I didn’t know the history. OUR history. I took some time to research the significance of this holiday including the authentic Juneteenth flag.
I decided to stray from the pan African colors we traditionally see and incorporate history into this year‘s designs!

We have to know our history or else we can be convinced of anything. 
We are Black We are Americans. ✊🏽
