2020 -> 2023

Lately I've been in a rut while seeking new clients that I want to work with for The Social Drop Out. I've been lucky enough to experience only word-of-mouth business for the last 3 years and that's everything from an account with 10 followers to 100k, but after taking a bit of a break to focus on my wedding - I had no clients. I guess I never learned this step in marketing my business that most do when they get started so I found myself in a rut while figuring out how to attract the right clientele.
I'm a bit of an old school young person so I took to the streets yesterday and went door to door with my business cards asking if businesses needed any help with their brands and online marketing. Not any takers, but hey I put my name out there. On to the next way.
Today I woke up to an email from the owner of one of the largest breweries in Austin asking to hear my pitch & immediately set up a meeting with me! And not only that, I had 2 other emails from brands wanting me to do UGC / Influencing content for them as well as a DM from a local business in Austin wanting to whiten my teeth (lol) in exchange for content.
Not boasting here - only just saying that if you're out there pursuing something, really pursue it. Give 100% effort, turn down things that aren't serving your purpose or helping you achieve your goals. And just don't give up. It's never been easy owning a business - taxes are a bitch & losing a client when rent's due is honestly always a gut wrenching feeling but today is a reminder to myself to just keep pursuing no matter what.

Social Media Strategy vs. Social Media Management. What are the two & which one do you need first to be successful online? 

Social Media Strategy is the process of analyzing social media audiences and developing a strategy that's tailored to them.

Social Media Management is the process of breaking down that strategy into easily digestable pieces of content that converts. It's managing that content, writing copy to match it's appeal & optimizing the strategy to better serve it's purpose. 

You could have one without the other - but your chances of converting an audience without a purpose or strategy is just gathering an audience with nothing to serve them! 

First let's develop your social media strategy - then let's put that strategy into use with some show stopping assets!

9-5 jobs are a hit or miss for most people! There's a ton of perks to working in a traditional structured job, paid time off/healthcare benefits, etc. But what are you missing in order to have that? Here's just a few reasons:

1. Freedom - whether it's time off or your where abouts, when you work a 9-5 job you're accounted for by time. And there's nothing more freeing then being able to go away for a week day get away and not having to ask anyone! 
2. Making your own processes - being able to do things the way you'd like to do them is enough of a reason to start a business if I ever heard one! Haha, but for real - being able to optimize your ideas & build them out in your business practices is so rewarding when you see them come into fruition! 
3. Money - you're getting the whole pie! You get to decide how your pie gets cut up (outsourcing, taxes, etc). You're choosing your own rates and pricing your own value which makes getting paid so much better! 

What makes working for yourself better for you?

Success is subjective to us all - there's no right or wrong way to measure what makes you feel successful. There's just feelings. Some days there's a smile at the end of a productive day, and sometimes there's a yearn in your chest for when you feel like you could have done more. All of these feelings are valid in your experience, but what you should also understand is that you get to decide how to feel. Allowing yourself that freedom opens up so much more possibilities for you to expand your power & nourish your growth.

Hello 2023! ✨ It's me, Quincie, founder & owner of The Social Drop Out, LLC! And boy... did we take a break. We were able to take almost a year long break and let our brain completely veg out and let the passion come back full circle so we could come back into this new year with a BANG! 💥

We're changing stuff up over here - if you've been following since the OG times, you'll see I've ditched the pink and substituted the defined black for a subtle charcoal. I'm dropped the logo I made in Canva and replaced it with one made by an actual graphic designer! I hired a website designer, and photographer to show the appearance of my growth. We're elevating not our look, but our services & more as well! 

We're evolving with marketing and adding services, team members, out-sourcing & more! Time to level up this year, who's with me?!
