Your CRM is meant to be the single source of truth for your customer relationships…not a source of daily frustration.

Yet, so many organizations end up fighting their platform instead of leveraging it. When user adoption drops, data gets siloed, and technical debt piles up, it’s rarely a "software" issue, it’s a strategy and governance issue.

Swipe through the carousel below ➡️ to explore the 5 telltale signs your CRM setup is holding you back:

If you've watched a child open a blind bag, you know the product inside is often secondary to the 30 seconds of anticipation before opening it.

The value isn't just in owning the actual product (not usually anyway), it's in the surprise, the scarcity, and the story of how they got it.

As customer experience leaders, we often focus on reducing friction and maximizing predictability. But the popularity of mystery mechanics suggests that complete predictability can sometimes feel... boring?

The concept of surprise & delight isn’t new but we’ve definitely seen a drop in these tactics over the years (or at least, they’ve become quite predictable). At this point we’re surprised when a DTC brand doesn’t offer a special code that is almost always ‘WELCOME10’ to get that initial 10% off. Maybe that brings delight, but have we lost the ‘surprise’?

: Where is the line between smooth, predictable CX and exciting, memorable CX? Is your brand accidentally stripping away all the delight in the name of efficiency?

Everyone talks about Gen Z like they're a different species. They're not. They still want to feel understood, they still want brands to be honest, and they still open an email when it's actually worth their time.

What's different is the bar. Their BS meter is higher, their patience for filler is lower, and they've grown up with more marketing thrown at them than any generation before them, so they've gotten really good at spotting the stuff that isn't real.

We spent time looking specifically at email, the channel everyone loves to call dead, and found the opposite. Gen Z is very much still in their inbox. They just expect more once they're there.

We're sharing a full breakdown of what actually earns their attention and their trust, and honestly, most of it applies to marketing in general, not just Gen Z.

Stay tuned.

Don’t just get the first purchase, build the habit.

It takes an average of 66 days for the human brain to lock in a new habit. That makes those first 60–90 days the single most critical window to bridge the gap between acquisition and long-term retention.

At Shift Paradigm, we design lifecycle CRM around behavioral mechanics:
• Triggering messages based on real-time behavior (not random calendar dates)
• Stepping in with support before customer interest starts to fade
• Unifying sales, marketing, and service data for a seamless customer experience

Acquisition gets a customer to try you once. Behavioral CRM is how you carry them past the 66-day threshold until choosing your brand becomes second nature.

Question of the Day: Is your business run by scalable systems, or are you just relying on a few star players to keep the lights on? 📉

Warren Buffett stepping down as Chairman at Berkshire Hathaway is a classic study in operational handoffs: shifting from a legendary decision-maker to a repeatable, team-wide framework.

It’s a masterclass in Change Management, RevOps, and Employee Enablement.
When a company depends on individual "heroes" to save the day, it creates huge risk:
> Tribal Knowledge: Key workflows live in heads, not documentation.
> Change Resistance: Top performers resist new tools because their personal system works fine for them.
> Fragile Scale: Growth hits a wall the moment someone leaves or takes a vacation.

Real scale isn't about leaning on a couple of MVPs; it’s about giving the whole team the process and tools to win.

Hero culture makes a business fragile. Enabled teams make it unstoppable.

How do you support your top talent without letting your operations depend entirely on them?

Stop asking your customers what they want.

It sounds counterintuitive, but the reality is that people are great at identifying their problems, but they are notoriously terrible at predicting their own solutions.
The best brand experiences aren't built by asking users to design the solution, they're built by watching how they actually act.

Where to look instead:

> Where are people dropping off in your funnel? What page are they rage-clicking? Behavioral data tells the truth when surveys lie.
> If users are cobbling together two different tools or taking weird extra steps to finish a task, that’s your secret opening for innovation.
> Customers rarely complain about a process that’s just "okay". They just leave quietly for a competitor who made it effortless.

Don't ask your audience to be your product managers. Watch where they struggle, solve the underlying friction, and give them an experience they didn't even know they were missing.

Apple just dropped a foldable phone, and Samsung’s collective response was pretty much: "Welcome to the party, we’ve been here since 2019!" 😂

It brings up a real question: Is there any shame in copying a proven winner?

In business, you don't get extra points for making your job harder. Letting someone else take the hits and pave the road lets you step in and perfect the ex*****on.

Three quick takeaways from the foldable wars:

> Fast followers win market share: Being first gets press; being reliable gets customers.
> Look past direct rivals: Compare your channel and customer experience against standard-setters in other industries (like checkout, support, or app onboarding).
> Refine, don't reinvent: Take a proven blueprint, strip away the friction, and tailor it to your audience.

True innovation isn't always coming up with something brand-new, it's taking what already works and executing it better.

Question of the Day: Would you rather be the pioneer who gets there first, or the smart follower who gets it right?

September brings back two kinds of PSL: Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Panicked Short-Term Logic. ☕🎃

When Q4 pressure hits, teams often ditch data-backed strategies for fast band-aids, more batch emails, spiked ad spend, and frantic activity that creates the illusion of momentum. But quick fixes don't save a quarter; they burn resources and delay real growth.

How to navigate the end-of-year push without falling into the trap:

Double down on proven drivers: Skip reactive tests and focus strictly on high-intent segments already converting.

Fix the handoffs: Tightening marketing-to-sales follow-up yields faster revenue than buying new leads.

Expose the bottlenecks: Use Q4 ex*****on to catch dirty data and tech silos so 2027 starts on solid ground.

Short-term ex*****on doesn't have to mean short-term logic.

As year-end targets close in, are you doubling down on what works, or falling back on panic-driven habits?
