I think I'm more troubled at the fact that a company would even want their logo to look remotely close to another popular brand!!
"SKIMAN" isn't the only company that has done this!
Elon Musk did the same with the branding of his SPACE X program! His logo looks similar to the logo of a soccer club!!! In his case, the soccer organization found it amusing!
Here's a man with all the money in the world and he can't create a better logo!!????

I will say this much...it IS NOT an easy task!!! You get THE RIGHT DESIGNER and it can be!

After visiting with My Sister and Brother-In-Law, I finally got to see my handy-work in lights! LITERALLY!! We visited his ice machine (PRISTINE ICE & WATER) and I was impressed to see the logo on a bigger scale!!!

I enjoy a continuance of representation for the people and businesses I have collaborated with present and past.

New logo created for "PRISTINE ICE & WATER" based in New Mexico.

The logo is comprised of a stylized "P" created from water drops. Obviously the blue also represents the color we normally associate ice and water with.

The negative space that is created by the surrounding drops naturally forms a "cube" shape in the center of the actual logo image.

The process in creating a custom logo has several phases in it as it eventually evolves into a "work of art".
People that "dabble" in the business may offer to take on the task of creating a logo for you at a very cheap price! Some examples of those prices could be as low as $25 per logo!
However a low-ball price probably means there is going to be more technology behind the design and very, very little THOUGHT PROCESS behind it. A TRUE logo design will take research and time to not only learn or know about the business we're designing for, but what symbology and ideas might be used to create a unique design that will be representing that business...your business!
Creating a true logo or "mark" is not simply about putting cute drawings or icons together to create the logo in fact, some of the worlds most well known logos (like the Nike swoosh mark) are in fact some of the simplest of designs!
A Designer's goal is to create a powerful icon with little detail as possible that takes up as little "space" as possible. Personally I find the BEST logos can be easily created in BLACK or WHITE!
A viewer should be able to look at the image in seconds and then be able to easily recall that design through memory in most cases.
