Razz (featured in photo), Pine, and myself headed out on a journey yesterday morning.

We’re road trippin’ from Scottsdale, AZ ➡️ Denver, CO ➡️ Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to move in with my good friend .visuals.

In total it’s gonna be close to a 40 hour trip.

Yesterday we tried to make it to Denver, but got snowed in right when we arrived at the Colorado border.

Yesterday’s drive was one of the craziest I’ve ever had! 🙈🙈

We drove through 100+ degree weather in the desert, freezing temps in the mountains and forests, gnarly winds in New Mexico (a semi truck flipped over in front of me and sent us off the road! Check my story) and then we were stuck in the middle of lightning snow storm (craziest s**t!!) not being able to see where we going so we had to turn back an hour to Trinidad, CO to stay the night.

It was one for the books!!

Finally getting the spot setup. Razz and Pine (our cats) love my futon so we decided to leave it in the living room instead of my office. We don’t really watch TV or anything, so I think a futon should do just as well as a couch out there. Honestly, it might actually keep me to my office and back porch more because when I have a couch I tend get into “sloth mode” more frequently. 😂 Our old couch we called “The Melter” because once we sat on it, no matter the mood, we melted into it. That was a good couch...especially on chill days.

We are currently in Scottsdale, AZ staying at for a birthday week with a lot of great friends I haven’t seen in a while. It’s been crazy actually because there’s been like 6 or 7 birthdays this week (in our squad that’s here with us). So happy birthday to all y’all, but I want to give a special birthday shoutout to these two - and . HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS! The world is blessed to have you both. I have so much respect for these two. Their work ethic leaves most of us in the dust, but they still prioritize their family, friends, and core values over EVERYTHING. They have hearts of gold…ya know, the type of people that’ll drop everything at the drop of a hat just to help someone if they needed it. They also go out of their way to expend EXTREME amounts of emotional energy & support to others EVERY SINGLE DAY. They are game changers in all aspects of life and I’m blessed to know them. I love you boys. Now let’s go celebrate! FUN FACT: made a joke about putting himself in the photo, so I decided to do it as a funny thing lol. Photo 1: Final Edit - Photo 2 is the text from Lombard - Photo 3 is the Lombard spoof - Photo 4 is the original. Felt good to have a fun little edit again. Cheers everyone! @ Stay With Style Scottsdale

The story behind these incredible cats: First off, I can’t believe I missed yesterday! Secondly, I never expected either one of these two to show up in my life, but they did, and I couldn’t be happier.

Pine - the Brown Tabby (a.k.a. The Tiger)
and I found Pine in a ditch under a Pine Tree when he was 3 months old. He was so scared, shaking and crying. I gave him some temporary food, shelter, and love. I was a traveling man at the time and had no room for a cat in my life, so I brought him to the Humane Society. But they weren’t very nice to him when I dropped him off, so when I got a couple miles down the road, I turned around and drove back, yelled at them, and ordered to have “my” cat back 😂 He’s been with me ever since. He’s about to be 5 years old. He will always be my day 1 homie.
Razz - the Orange Tabby (a.k.a. The Lion)
In January, and I were taking a walk in our cul de sac and we saw an orange kitty roaming around the parked cars. Lola said “If he follows us home, we’re going to keep him”. Sure enough, he followed us right up into the house and we fed him. We had to make sure he didn’t have an owner before we could keep him…turned out - the private school in the woods behind our house put two kittens in the wild to “control the snake population”…what a f*cking joke (we lived in the backwoods of Texas in Coyote country so no way they would’ve survived.) So, we DEFINITELY decided to keep him. We named him Razz because he was quite the Spazz when we found him, but I love every second of it. Razz is 1 year and 7 months.
These two cats have so much character I can’t even begin to describe it in writing. Those who know them can definitely confirm. AND they compliment each other so well. Pine, the wise, more conservative overwatcher - Razz, the wild, young, super-lovey adventure kitty. They just light up my world. So, thank you Universe, thank you for bringing these two amazing creatures into my life. @ Austin, Texas

Current mood: wanting to go on another adventure that makes me feel like the end of this bridge - bewildered and curious. Feelin’ like I need to get back in the mountains soon. It’s been too long.
If you want to find out what’s at the end of this bridge, head on out to British Columbia and find out! It’s worth it :)

Idk what it is about this photo, but to me...this one feels legendary. Maybe it’s just the people in it?
Rarely, I think some of the photos I take feel “iconic”, not because of me taking the photo, but the people in it. I only feel it with select people, and this group of people is one of them. The type of “iconic” like when you see an old image of Jimi Hendrix playing guitar on a couch in his room, or a photo of Marilyn Monroe sitting against her bed smoking a cigarette in her nightgown.
You know, those private snapshot moments of powerful people before they did their life changing s**t and someone caught a true, raw moment of them. That photo will then age away in the archives until years down the road when they’ve hit it big, someone uncovers the old photo. This photo may never be that, but that’s the feeling I had when I exported it, and I’m a feeling chaser, so it felt good. :)
These are 4 very powerful people who haven’t even got started yet....so watch out world. :)

Just stuck in a rock ’n’ roll dream.

Fun fact: The word “Rock” is derived from old English and means to “pull, tear, move”. The word “Roll” is Latin and means “small wheel”. In the 17th century sailors used the term “rocking and rolling” to describe the motion of the ship on the seas. By the 1920’s all the cool kids started referring to dancing and s*x as “Rocking and rolling”.

Then, Alan Freed, a DJ in Cleveland, Ohio used the phrase, “The Rock and Roll Session” to describe the mixture of rhythm and blues and country music he played during his show. As his radio show gained popularity, so too did the phrase. And why is the “and” sometimes written as ‘n? That’s called an apocopation – the omission of the final sound of a word. Pretty neat, huh?

Does anyone else know any other stories of how the name came to be?

Not sure of a good caption, but I saw this quote today that I liked: “Be brave enough to be bad at something new.”

I need to do more of that.
