When TOMS shoes began in 2006, the concept of BOGO (Buy On, Get One) was commonly used for sales and promotions. But CEO Blake Mycoskie envisioned a for-profit company that gave like a non-profit. TOMS pioneered cause marketing and their new version of BOGO - Buy 1, GIVE 1 - and turned shoppers into philanthropists.

As their line of products grew, so did their scope of giving. Their unique approach not only turned them into a a globally recognized brand, but won them long-term loyalty from their customers.

The Tru team has been keeping busy this season, both on the clock and off! Take a peek at what we’ve been up to this summer…

⭐️ Victoria: Attended a meditation retreat with her husband, and began work on a personal brand project and documentary feature film with her sister Darla.

⭐️ David: Built a house on lake Buchanan, and is designing and writing scripts for TV and film.

⭐️ Kris: Writing and creating comedy shows to perform around Austin.

⭐️ Tracey: Spending time with her family on the water.

⭐️ Cathy: Celebrated the 4th of July with her very best friends (since elementary school!), religiously watched the July tournament for her favorite sport (sumo wrestling), and celebrated her grandma’s 87th birthday.

⭐️ Liz: Enjoying life in Spain with her family, and taking on new ghostwriting projects in addition to her copywriting work.

People don’t buy products; they buy solutions, transformation, trust, and authority.
