Pmax conversions doubled, then doubled again, but no idea why.
We found the hidden search terms using this MCC hack to uncover the truth.

We had a pain management clinic in Indianapolis come to us recently that had been managing their own Google Ads account spending $8,500/month.

2 months ago they created a Performance Max campaign it is was bringing in a few conversions but still unprofitable. Then on a Wednesday to Friday, their conversions doubled, then Saturday to Monday, doubled again.

They thought it was a fluke but the quality of the conversions was solid. They wanted to know what happened so they could readjust the strategy to put more money towards the high converting campaign.

But before they did that, they wanted to know which search terms were driving the conversions.

The Search Term field on the left nav was not showing, so they came to us to solve it.

If 'Search Terms' isn't an option, don't worry because we have a hack that will show you exactly what search terms Google is serving your Pmax ads to.

Through an MCC account (DM me if you need help)

Insights & Reports - Search Terms
Filter - Account name
Filter - Campaign Type Performance Max

There you can see the search terms that generated your Pmax ads. Any low quality terms, add them as negative keywords.

We helped the pain management clinic to double their budget in the Pmax campaign AND we created a targed Search campaign targeting the same search terms that the Pmax campaign had uncovered.

And we brought them on as a client.

Google’s AI Max Search Terms Are Buried.
I’ll Show You Where to Dig.

AI Max for Search is now available to some advertisers and will be rolling out to all advertisers this summer. This will get your ads in AI Overviews and in AI Mode.

It is a simple Toggle switch and AI Max is turned on for your existing campaigns.

But once it is live, finding which search terms have generated your ads in AI Overviews is hidden.

Here is how to find them.

- Campaign level (left nav)
- Search Terms (left nav)
- Change 'Search Terms' to 'Search Terms and Landing Pages from AI Max' (dropdown above columns)

Here's what you need to know:
- Check Campaign Settings - AI Max for Search is midway down
- Google's rolling this out gradually through summer
- Full access for all advertisers by September

Before you flip that Toggle switch, ensure you have:
- Comprehensive negative keyword list in place
- 60+ tracked conversions minimum
- Accurate primary conversion tracking
- Working conversion values (for ecommerce)

Hack Google Ads: Save 8-12% with this Simple Trick

Let's get after this Google Ads hack that you can implement right now!

Campaign level
Date Range = last 90 day
Left Nav = Search Keywords
Add Filter: Cost > $.01
Add Filter: Conversions < .01
Filtered Keywords at the bottom
Divide the Filtered Keywords spend by the total spend for this campaign.

Actionable: Pause all of these keywords that have spend but do not have conversions in the last 90 days.
