These small devices will allow workers to quickly contact emergency services by sending their GPS location to law enforcement. The move comes as part of a larger $2.4 million investment in election technology and security.

With increasing concerns about the safety of polling places, this decision highlights the ongoing efforts to protect those who play a critical role in our democratic process. However, questions remain about the effectiveness and ease of implementing these measures before November’s elections.
