The highest-ROI marketing strategy most $10M+ businesses ignore?Their existing network.

You've spent years building relationships — clients, vendors, referral partners, industry peers. But are you actively managing those relationships, or hoping they'll remember you when the time is right?

Hope isn't a strategy.

Smart relationship management means:

→ Staying in regular, valuable contact with your top referral sources
→ Having a system that flags when a client is approaching renewal or upsell territory
→ Creating a referral program that makes it easy — and rewarding — for others to send you business
→ Treating past clients like the goldmine they are

We helped a 50-year-old family printing company achieve 50% revenue growth in 12 months. The "secret"? A deliberate strategy to re-engage their existing network while building new referral pathways.

You've already done the hard work of earning trust. Now build the system to leverage it.

The businesses growing fastest aren't always finding new audiences — they're going deeper with the ones they already have.

Smart.

You paid for the CRM. Your team uses it (sort of).

But if contacts are sitting dormant, deals aren't being tracked, and follow-up is still happening in someone's inbox — you don't have a CRM. You have an expensive address book.

Here's what a CRM is actually supposed to do:

→ Tell you exactly where every prospect is in your pipeline
→ Automate the touches that keep you top of mind between meetings
→ Surface the warm leads your team forgot to follow up with
→ Give you data to make better decisions about where to invest

One of our clients — a B2B SaaS cybersecurity company — achieved 300% revenue growth in 12 months. A big part of that? Getting ruthlessly intentional about how leads moved through their system.

At $10M+, you can't afford for good leads to fall through the cracks. One missed follow-up could be a $200K deal.

Your CRM should be your most hardworking sales team member. Is it?

Most marketing and sales teams are playing the same game — just not together.

Marketing generates leads. Sales ignores them.
Sales closes deals. CS doesn't know what was promised.
CS spots expansion signals. Marketing never hears about them.

Each team is working hard. The revenue leak isn't effort — it's the handoffs between them.

The modern B2B buyer does 60–70% of their research before ever talking to a salesperson. Every touchpoint is a marketing moment. And every one of those moments should inform what happens next.

That's what I mean when I say marketing is a team sport. Not a metaphor — a structural challenge.

New post: what alignment actually looks like in practice, which three handoffs matter most, and the shared KPIs that break down departmental walls.

You built a $10M+ business on grit, referrals, and relationships. But here's the uncomfortable truth: the same way you got here won't get you to $20M.

Most established business owners are running their marketing like it's still Year 1 — no systems, no visibility, no engine.

They're spending on ads without a funnel to send traffic to.
They're attending events without a follow-up sequence.
They're generating interest without a way to capture, track, or convert it.

That's not a lead generation problem. That's a marketing infrastructure problem.

Think of it this way: you wouldn't run operations without a CRM, accounting without software, or HR without a process. But marketing? "We'll figure it out."

The businesses that scale past $10M don't hustle harder — they build smarter systems. Especially in the AI era.

I've helped companies double revenue in 24 months — not by working more, but by putting the right infrastructure in place first.

Your next level of growth is already waiting. The question is whether your marketing is built to capture it.

Austin’s music scene fuels our culture, economy, and global identity—but the systems supporting musicians have long been fragmented and underfunded. That’s why Austin Texas Musicians™ (ATXM) is raising $2 million to scale education, advocacy, and income pathways for Austin’s working musicians in 2026.

Since its founding, ATXM has helped secure $11M+ for musicians and venues, establish a $200 citywide minimum pay rate, distribute $3.5M annually through the Live Music Fund, and generate 300,000+ paid gigs. This is not charity—it’s systems-building.

As ATXM enters its most ambitious growth phase yet, the organization is expanding education programs, launching new paid performance pipelines, strengthening federal advocacy around AI and creator economics, and building a nationally replicable model for creative-economy resilience.

Here’s why the $2M raise matters—and how leaders, businesses, and community champions can help Austin’s musicians live, work, and thrive.

🎸 Austin’s music economy is a $2B+ industry—but the people who power it are still operating without the policy, systems, and protections they deserve.

That’s why I joined the board of Austin Texas Musicians™ (ATXM).

Not for one-off programs—but to help build foundational policy, infrastructure, and economic systems that support both musicians and music venues. What we prove in Austin can be replicated nationally.

Since 2019, ATXM has helped:
• Secure $8M+ for musicians and venues through the Live Music Fund
• Establish Austin’s first citywide $200 minimum pay rate for musicians
• Represent 6,000+ working musicians at the city, state, and federal level
• Turn advocacy wins into education, paid work, and economic mobility

Now, we’re scaling.

🎯 Our goal: raise $2M to fund ATXM’s 2026 initiatives, including:
• Expanded policy advocacy & enforcement
• Education + workforce development for musicians
• Sustainable systems that strengthen venues and creative businesses
• A model that positions Austin as the national blueprint for creative-economy policy

If you’re a donor, investor, or board-level leader interested in:
✔️ Community impact with measurable outcomes
✔️ Culture as economic infrastructure
✔️ Scalable, systems-level change

…I’d love to share our donor deck and talk through how you can support.

Austin’s music scene doesn’t thrive by accident.
It thrives when we fund the systems behind it.

Love live music? Austin’s music community has given so much to all of us — and today, I’m inviting you to join me in supporting the Austin Texas Musicians (ATXM) as we continue building a stronger, more sustainable future for the artists who make this city’s culture possible.

ATXM has made real, measurable progress for Central Texas musicians, including:

🎵 Helping establish the Austin Live Music Fund
A first-of-its-kind program directing $3.5 million every year to local musicians and venues.

💰 Securing the City of Austin’s $200 standard performance rate
Ensuring fair pay for artists at city-sponsored events.

🎤 Delivering more than $300,000 in paid gig opportunities
Connecting musicians with reliable income and new audiences.

📚 Expanding education & professional development
Plans to launch 4 quarterly Master Classes and a 12-week Artist-to-Entrepreneur Mastermind, giving musicians the tools to build sustainable creative careers.

This work is community-powered — and we’re gearing up for an even bigger year ahead.

If you believe in fair pay, innovative education, safer working conditions, and a thriving live music ecosystem, I’d love for you to support ATXM’s Giving Tuesday campaign.

👉 Donate or create a fundraising team here: https://givebutter.com/atxmusicians-donate/atxm-board/marymckeownchristie
