Yesterday I told my client (whom I built a website for) to shut her website down. 😐

Why?

Because it wasn't necessary for her marketing goals.

Creating a marketing strategy is a lot like building a car. 🚗

You can't just put wheels on the road and expect it to drive.

You need all the parts working in synchrony.

A website can be an important part of a marketing strategy.

But depending upon what your goals are, it might just be a sick decal.

It looks sweet but it does nothing to get you to where you want to go.

As someone who builds websites for a living... I'm not going to offer you a product that doesn't add value to your life.

Do less, but be better.

It's not about doing ALL the things it's about doing the RIGHT things 👇.

1 avatar - Who is your ideal client that you LOVE to serve?
1 solution - What is the 1 problem that you help them solve?
1 platform - Where is your content (written, video, or audio)?

Until you are making 6-figures by doing what I suggest above 👆.

Don’t even consider diversifying.

Be better at 👆.

It's because BAD design stands out... not in a GOOD way.

5 tips for better design.

- Keep it simple - less is more.
- Be cohesive - 2 colors MAX (get variety with shades).
- 1 typography - get variety with size & weight.
- More white space - let elements breathe.
- Hire a professional - then you can ignore the first 4.

With day 3 of SXSW wrapping up, remember to be intentional about who you are connecting with any WHY you are connecting with them.

Focus on how you can help THEM first.
