This is a recent full-page ad in Horizons Magazine created for client Autocraft Bodywerks. Horizons is published by the Hill Country Porsche Club. Location for the photo shoot was the new 23,000 sq ft Autocraft Bodywerks collision center in Spicewood. For the masthead and footer I have used a blue similar to the blue used for the CAR-O-LINER wrack in the background and as a compliment to the blue sky in the windows for a clean monochromatic feel as a surround for the Porsche 911. www.globalspeedadgroup.com

This original poster from the 1992 Santa Barbara International Film Festival offers a fine glimpse into some of the early marketing markers used by the festival organizers to promote, not only the event itself, but the "brand" being established by the fledgling event. The use of film sprockets and colors as graphic elements really pops. During the first 3 years of the festival which launched in 1986, I was a volunteer and I'm fortunate to have saved this poster from the 1992 event. In the days ahead, I’ll ask you to put your thinking caps on as we consider the many facets of marketing, branding, and the many ways companies succeed and sometimes fail in their efforts to become a memorable brand. www.globalspeedadgroup.com

Isn't it curious how priorities get twisted for political purposes? We know that cigarette smoking kills 7 million people worldwide each year, 480,000 right here in the US. Yet, our President wants to ban va**ng because 6 people have died from illnesses that may be related to va**ng. Let's call it what it is; the poisonous cigarette and to***co lobby pushing back against the va**ng industry because it's cutting into their profits.
