Our work with the Connecticut Office of Statewide Marketing & Tourism (Visit Connecticut) on the “CT Pizza Capital of the U.S.” campaign beat out some of the world’s largest agencies and destinations for the only Gold awarded in its highly competitive category.
Widely regarded as the top global marketing award for “work that works,” the Effie Awards honor marketing that delivers the trifecta of breakthrough strategy, exceptional creative, and tangible business results. Since Adams & Knight's mantra has always been “Ideas that Spark Results,” this recognition is especially gratifying. And we're deeply grateful for the great client partnership that made this daring campaign possible.
The integrated, PR-led campaign audaciously claimed that Connecticut has better pizza than New York, Chicago, Detroit, or New Jersey, and continuously fueled the debate over the course of a year. With a modest budget, we turned a bold idea into a cultural phenomenon. The campaign generated more than 19 billion earned media impressions, drove the state’s largest-ever shift in positive perception, and delivered an $11 lift in visitor spending for every $1 invested.
