Let’s talk about event design! It’s one of our favorite things to do! Since 2022 we have helped promote and shape the with our graphic design and photography. 4 years later we have a consistent core brand that can also evolve and stay fresh. A little classic, a little bit new each year! We also have a catalog of great images and video to pull from. Events require a lot of collateral and a lot of promotion. Tshirts, fliers, posters, banners, signage, social media posts, ads — we’ve done it all. Even an art installation and decor!

This event is put on by and it’s one of the best events of the year! Take a scroll down memory lane and check out some of our work for over the years. 👉🏽

Portraits are one of my favorite things to capture! I love getting people in front of my camera and showcasing their beauty and personality. Last fall I had the honor of photographing some of the survivors for the gallery wall at Adventist Health’s VIPInk event in October. Did you know we have a newsletter? Officially titled [Headline Goes Here] — No, that wasn’t a mistake, that’s the name! (Jen thinks it’s really funny, and won’t change it, even though at least one new subscriber thinks it’s an error every time.) We love your sharp eyes and your reply emails! And when you think about it, it is a pretty funny title for a graphic design newsletter. 🙃

Southeast Strong is a Transformative Climate Communities Implementation grant project with the City of Bakersfield. We were asked to help create logo options for this project based on input from a community meetings. The insights from this meeting were passed along to us. Then, we had the job of taking that input and capturing the essence and feel of what a Southeast logo should look like. The group was also encouraged to submit visuals of similar logos that they feel represent the community of Southeast Bakersfield. 

The meeting resulted in some insightful and unique input. Ideas like “Two arms wrapping around a community/neighborhood” and “arm wrestling represents the strength of the community, as well as “a butterfly in the logo represents the emergence of change and revitalization” were all suggested. As designers, we were really excited to find ways to bring these ideas to life in a meaningful and well designed way. We frequently described graphic design as a combination of visual arts and problem solving. This logo project was the perfect example! We created three logos and the final logo was chosen by a community vote. 

We created three very different designs and would have been proud to have any of them selected.
