It’s finally here!BRAIN DRAIN BIRTHS IN THE BIG APPLE!!

If you’re in New York City tomorrow (Harlem to be precise) join us to see the much acclaimed documentary Brain Drain for its BIG APPLE premiere as it was selected to be the closing film for the 31st edition of the African Film Festival by Mahen Bonetti and her team of festival curators. I am indeed honored.

The journey of making Brain Drain the documentary started pre covid and came to head when it was screened at the the auditorium of the United Nations HQ Abuja August 2023 after which it made its US premiere at the American Film institute and cultural center downtown Silver Spring Md on October 1st 2023, commemorating Nigerian’s 63rd independence anniversary.

Much has been written about the negativity associated with Brain Drain, but our documentary explores not just that theme but delves into other aspects of the scourge and how African leaders can use turn it around, and in the process generated the sequel titled Brain Gain which premieres at the AFI downtown Silver Spring on July 21st 2024.

I look forward to seeing all you Nigerian and African patriots in the big apple on Saturday at the African Center, Harlem.

Brain drain the documentary!
Interview with Segun Adeyina, Nigerian American Democratic member of the Georgia state House of Representatives from the 110th district.

State Representative Segun Adeyina was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in November 2022. He represents the citizens of District 110, which includes portions of Gwinnett County.
Before serving in the state legislature, Segun was a representative for the Gwinnett County Tree Advisory Committee. An active executive member of the Gwinnett County Democratic Party, Rep. Adeyina was previously a 2020 Democratic candidate for District 1 of the Gwinnett County School Board. He is currently the executive director of the Nigerian American Public Advisory Committee U.S.A., where he works to promote voter education and registration in immigrant communities. Additionally, he played a key role in the recent 2021 U.S. presidential election and U.S. Senate elections in Georgia through his involvement in One Voice Africa. He is a member of the Gwinnett NAACP, Global African Business Association and served on the boards of several community and business organizations, including the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Americas and African World Expo.
He has won several awards and received recognition for his volunteer and philanthropic efforts. Most recently, Segun received the United States Presidents Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022 and the Sirius Rising Start Award from the Georgia Plastic Foundation. He has also been recognized by 100 Black Men for serving as a mentor for seven years with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He received the 2019 Mothers on a Mission–12th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Drum Major Award, as well as the 2019 Global Black History Honors Honoree for leadership in the community.
For more than 25 years, he has worked in IT program and project management for Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries, including General Motors, Ascension Health Sy.
