Taking a look back at the whirlwind journey to Artscape 2026—and it all started with one email that made all those late nights worth it. When I got the news that my application was accepted, the real work began.

Here’s a little peek behind the curtain of the weeks leading up to the festival. I was deep in production mode making a craft a day, surrounded by price tags, business cards, and display labels. I used my master booth checklist to gather everything that was needed. Seeing it all come together at the booth was such a surreal “pinch me” moment. Thank you all for supporting this labor-intensive, slow-craft journey. It’s the behind-the-scenes chaos that makes the event days so special!

If you have thick hair—or if, like me, you’re raising a daughter who inherited that same beautiful, high-volume mane—you know exactly what I’m talking about. My daughter officially stole my favorite thing. There’s a funny, inevitable truth about motherhood: no matter how many times you say “this is mine,” it quickly becomes “ours.” Whether it’s your favorite hoodie or that perfect spot on the couch, daughters always know how to find the things that bring us the most comfort.

We heard from a lovely customer, , who said her custom crochet neck pillow is so cozy that she and her daughter have to take turns using it! That is exactly the kind of “slow craft” magic we love to create here at Studio Art 101.

What an incredible first day at Artscape! The energy here in Baltimore has been absolutely electric. It’s been so rewarding to see everyone jumping into the art activity—the creativity has been truly inspiring. We’ve met all types of people, also saw Mayor Scott, I was filmed with the CEO of Create Baltimore and got to see a little of the Roots show! It’s been eventful to say the least.

I’m also thrilled to share that the mini pillows have been a huge hit! Seeing them find their new homes throughout the day has been the highlight of my booth experience.

A massive thank you to my family and friends and everyone who stopped by Booth A32 today to say hi, chat, and support my work.
