We wanted to give an update on Mr. Avery. This is from his son. Please remember him in your prayers.

Update: 1/25 3pm

Overall, Dad has had a better day. Nurses upped his oxygen intake yesterday afternoon following a rough morning and allowed him to use his nebulizer, which seemed to improve his quality of rest and overall breathing significantly.

We saw the surgeon this morning. Dad also got CT scanned.

Diagnosis: He has severe aortic stenosis which causes β€œbackup” into his lungs and heavily affects his breathing, along with COPD [likely from his shipyard years].

Heart cath is set for tomorrow. It could also involve stenting if other blockages are found.

Aortic valve replacement surgery is Tuesday. Trying to avoid open heart surgery but if blockages are found and severe, it’s not off the table.

Thank you all for your prayers and concern. Please continue to pray for no complications and no need for open heart surgery.
