What started as a routine demolition of an old home led to a groundbreaking discovery: the very logs that once formed Fort McIntosh in 1778. This fort played a crucial role in American history, serving as the headquarters for the Continental Army during the American Revolution.

It's about the history of Brighton Township's Little Red Schoolhouse. It was very interesting hearing firsthand what it was like back then from someone who attended the school.

HAVE YOU SEEN IT? A new, locally produced documentary by the Brighton Township Historical Society and Pacer Studios tells the rich history of the iconic, one-room Richmond “Little Red” Schoolhouse. The 13:35 minute video may be viewed on YouTube at https://youtu.be/ADGKL9Dly-4. It celebrates the building as a landmark in an era of American public education when rural townships had their own schools, taught by a lone teacher who also built warming fires in pot-belly stoves, swept the floors and exacted discipline.

If you can spare just 2 hours a month and and have an interest in making a positive impact in our community, they are a great organization full of wonderful and caring individuals! ☺️ 🫶

Our team poured their hearts into crafting a logo that reflects the energy and spiritual growth that this incredible congregation embodies. 🙏❤️

The logo is a modern blend of simplicity and symbolism. The Church is nestled along Dutch Ridge Road. The color green symbolizes the church’s connection to nature. It transitions to blue, just as its faithful grow along their spiritual journey. The vibrant colors evoke feelings of optimism, trust, and family.
