Northcoast Signworks

Northcoast Signworks Welcome to NORTHCOAST SIGNWORKS! We are proud to be one of Northeast Ohio's premier sign shops.

After 34 years of service, Northcoast Signworks is closing its doors. I personally appreciate all who have believed in in us, but the current market has been more than we can survive. I hope to continue in the future providing a stable base to work with others to direct projects.
I thank you all for the opportunity to work on your project…

With the governor’s orders of non-essential companies to be closed, we here at Northcoast Signworks will be following this order. We will be working from home, as much as possible, but all production/installation will be on hold until the 6th of April. As a small business owner, I ask we all do the right thing. I can be reached via email at [email protected]
I wish you all health and safety during this time.

Thank you,

Bill Hamilton
President of Northcoast Signworks

A neighborhood group is installing historically accurate replicas of the original 1920s street signs in the East Cleveland portion of Forest Hill.

Ok, this was a personal one. My brother-in-law’s brother, (Yes, I know there is a joke in there!), needed a new sign for their development. We talked about materials first. They chose HDPE, High Density Polyethylene, because of it zero maintenance. Dan, the brother, came up with the original design so all we needed to do is fine tune it! The size was also a factor being almost 10 feet, but hey, this is why we people come to us to figure these things out. We needed to “split” the sign apart in the computer in order CNC the sign...AND it was double sided, so it had be be done twice. Most people have no idea what goes into a simple sign, but Dan does now!

So between working on the beautiful signage, that we do everyday, I get to hang with The Cleveland Ballet...not to dance, (as I’m sure you were thinking that 😧), but helping them out with signage as they continue to grow. Working with them has always “kept me on my toes”, but this last one, you should have seen the nutcracker jaw drop😮! He couldn’t even close his eyes 😆!!

So we use a lot of different materials to make our signage for our customers, but this was a first for me! A high end architectural firm wanted to add some warm to their new lobby area after the remodel. We talked about creating a piece out of moss...yes MOSS! We went back and forth on a design, then we had to figure out how to produce it. Most people were using a hot glue gun to get the moss to stick, but I took it up a notch, construction adhesive baby! After the aluminum “box” was made and painted, I applied the adhesive and placed the moss, which I had people from the firm laid out, into place. The icing on the “moss” was the laser cut aluminum letters to finish the look. What do ya think about us going GREEN?!?

One of the nice things about having all the talent at the shop and being able to help out municipalities with different projects, we are able to make a small mark on this world!

Hey All! It’s been a busy past year for us here at Northcoast. A lot of great clients, new and old, with challenging projects, big and small👍🏻! It still amazes me how creative our team can be, and at the same time, Scott, my business partner, has been busy getting the permits so we can do what we do best...MAKE BEAUTIFUL SIGNAGE! Check out the pictures and you will for yourself!!

We are in need of an employee at our shop!!! We are looking for someone to help out with the manufacturing process, operating CNC equipment, construction, painting, you name it! As a small sign shop, when one of our current employees needs to move on, it creates a wonderful opportunity to teach someone new this fantastic trade. If you are ready to work with us, please contact Bill or Scott!!

Ok, so this one was done a few years ago, but stopped out that way this summer for a couple pict’s! Sign is carved HDU with 23k gold letters and Platinum leaf accents. Background is black Smaltz, which is a crushed glass, adhered to the HDU. The ribbons are hand sculpted and painted with vinyl lettering. Oh yea, it’s all wooden pegged together, no fasteners to hold it between the posts!!
