Former NY Governor David Paterson on WFAN's Steve Somers: Over the night and under the covers I heard Steve Sommers first show in July of 1987, the beginning of 35 years of pleasure from his uniquely entertaining sports talk show. There were many hilarious thoughts that he shared with the audience but my favorite was in 2007 when the NE Patriots destroyed the Jets the same week that it was announced that Tom Brady and his girlfriend were having a baby. Sommers quipped that Tom Brady will never get another woman pregnant if he has the protection he had last Sunday from the Patriots offensive line.

I hosted a show on the FAN after his show in 2011. Obviously nervous about the opportunity, Sommers told so many great stories before I went on that when it was my time to go on the air I didn't have the slightest fear.

Good luck in your retirement, Steve, and hope to hear you once in a while when you might fill in for another host.
