According to Alec Lewis (The Athletic), practice went longer than anticipated, making him and some teammates late for a tee time.

The Blue Ox have only ever needed the people they had in their dugout. However, as the amateur baseball team ages, they realized they could use a hand. That’s where 1977 Bemidji High School graduate Bob Lucas enters the fold.

🇺🇸 Today We Remember D-Day 🇺🇸

On June 6, 1944, more than 150,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy in one of the most courageous military operations in history.

Many never made it home. Many carried the scars of war for the rest of their lives. All answered the call when freedom needed defending.

At Beer Belly Sports, we spend a lot of time talking sports, sharing laughs, and enjoying life. But today, we take a moment to remember the men and women whose sacrifice made those freedoms possible.

To the Greatest Generation and all who have served our country: thank you.

Freedom is never free.

Take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy today.

The Bemidji Blue Ox improved to 2-0 on the season Wednesday night with an impressive 8-2 victory over the Fosston Trash Pandas at Bemidji State University.

The Blue Ox offense came alive early thanks to Caleb Manecke, who launched a three-run home run in the second inning to give Bemidji control of the game. Manecke wasn’t done there, adding an RBI single later in the contest to finish with four runs driven in.

On the mound, Jack Lundquist was dominant. The right-hander struck out 12 Trash Pandas hitters and kept Fosston off balance all night long.

Bemidji finished with 10 hits as a team, with Fisher and Gunner Ganske each recording multi-hit performances to help pace the offense.

The Blue Ox will hit the road next Sunday for a doubleheader against the Hibbing Miners, with first pitch scheduled for noon. Bemidji then returns home next weekend for the First City Showdown, featuring the Bemidji Bucks and several other Minnesota Townball clubs.

The Blue Ox now sit at 2-0 and continue to build momentum early in the 2026 season. Minnesota Baseball Association

If you didn’t see last night, Simeon Woods Richardson got traded. Good!

The Minnesota Twins are trading RHP Simeon Woods Richardson to the Toronto Blue Jays for cash considerations, per The Athletic's Mitch Bannon.

Woods Richardson, originally sent to Minnesota in the 2021 José Berríos trade, returns to Toronto after being DFA'd on Saturday. He went 0-7 with a 7.74 ERA in 12 appearances for the Twins this season.
