September beach nights just hit a little differently!

A cooler, windy evening, beautiful blue skies, and one big family filling the beach with love, laughter, and a little bit of toddler sweetness.

The wind may have had its own plans for everyone’s hair, but these sweet little ones absolutely stole the show. Tiny toes in the sand, cuddles with Mom and Dad, giggles with grandparents, and all those little in-between moments that make large family sessions so special.

There’s something I love about September at the beach—the softer temperatures, gorgeous skies, and that end-of-summer feeling that makes you want to hold onto these moments just a little bit longer.

Three generations. One beautiful evening at the beach.
There’s something extra special about bringing three generations of a family together by the ocean—grandparents walking the shoreline with their grandchildren, sandy toes, salty air, hugs, laughter, and all of those little in-between moments that happen naturally when everyone is together.

Beach sessions aren’t just about getting everyone to smile at the camera. They’re about documenting what your family feels like right now—the relationships, the personalities, the chaos, and the love that has grown from one generation to the next.

THIRD TIME in front of my camera, and now he’s SIX!

One of my favorite parts of photographing families year after year is getting to actually watch their children grow up through my lens. This adventurous little guy is now six, with the cutest freckled nose, so much personality, and a way of speaking that makes you stop and think, How are you only six?! 😂 He’s smart, curious, funny, and always ready to explore.

For this year’s session, Mom + Dad chose Herring Point at Cape Henlopen State Park, which gave us so much variety—the winding paths, beautiful greenery, jetty rocks, and the calm beach. It was one of those slightly, humid September nights where you could definitely feel summer still hanging on, but those September skies were absolutely perfect.
For their last few portraits on the jetty rocks, I switched things up and pulled out my fisheye lens to create a wider, slightly distorted perspective that showed off more of the rocks, sky, and surroundings. I wanted those final images to feel a little less like traditional family portraits and a little more like ART.

Three sessions. Another year older. More freckles, more adventures, and another little chapter of their family story captured.

☀️ Lots of sunshine, lots of kiddos, and a whole lot of family!
Grandparents, siblings, cousins, and all the beautiful chaos in between. There’s something extra special about getting multiple generations together in front of my camera—especially when the cousins get to make memories together, too!

Big families = big laughs, lots of personality, and some of my favorite moments to capture. ✨
