July 1960 a small plane crashed by the Upper Cascade in Crawford Notch. Check out the 1958 NH State Police cruisers.

This is another stereoscope by the Kilburn Bros. in Littleton, NH. This entitled "Gates of the Crawford Notch and train." I suspect the wooden tunnel in the picture was probably constructed to protect the train from falling rocks. Picture from1875.
