Today, fire danger in our area has been raised to VERY HIGH.
While there are currently no campfire restrictions, open burning is not allowed.
If you choose to have a campfire, please remember:
- 🔥 Campfires should be 3 feet by 3 feet or smaller and contained within an improved fire ring.
- ⚠️ Check for any fire restrictions before lighting a campfire, especially on private industrial timberlands, conservation-minded private properties, and Block Management Areas, where restrictions may differ from surrounding public lands.
- 💧 Always have a water source and a shovel readily available.
- 🚫 Never leave a campfire unattended. If you're not actively enjoying it, put it completely out.
- ✅ Ensure your fire is dead out before leaving it.
Remember, you are solely responsible for any fire you start. With the current hot, dry conditions, it only takes one escaped ember to cause a wildfire. Please use good judgment, know the rules where you're recreating, and help us protect our forests, our neighbors, and our community.
