National Pollinator Week is almost here, and we're kicking it off in style. Join CCE Broome County Educators, Master Gardeners, and the Broome Pollinator Pathway group on Saturday, June 13 from 12-4 PM at Cutler Botanic Garden for an afternoon dedicated to the bees, butterflies, and beneficial bugs that keep our ecosystems humming.

Take a guided garden tour with CCE Nature Educator Colleen Wolpert, learn how to attract "good bugs" to your yard, and discover why native plants matter for everything from farms to small urban gardens. Local pollinator-friendly organizations will be tabling all afternoon, and kids can enjoy games, stories, crafts, and a scavenger hunt.

Free admission, with preregistration required for tours and presentations: https://loom.ly/NnBhByc

Larry Huggins (president of the Southern Tier Beekeepers Association) and myself were invited to present at the Cortland Agriculture Extravaganza organized by Cortland Cornell Cooperative Extension. The event was held over two days at the Cortland Fair grounds with 11 different presenters talking about dairy, horses, beef, goats, maple syrup, apples, soil conservation, field crops, vegetables and of course honeybees! Each day 9 different 4th grade classes rotated thru the different education stations. The students came from Cortland, StMary's, Cincinnatus, McGraw and Marathon school districts. The students were well behaved and inquisitive! It was a wonderful event! Needless to say, Larry and I now have laryngitis from all the talking!
