How I found out I was pregnant with baby 3 (and told my husband as he was walking out the door with the dog)

So, after a slight accident and then a late cycle, (and after being in complete denial that I was even pregnant) I finally took a test at my husbands begging and yup, he was right. I was indeed pregnant.

It’s also so funny to me that all three times I took a pregnancy test were right after I had a shower. Like some sort of subconscious ritual I’ve created. But this shall be the last.

I always wondered what it would feel like to know you’re done having children. I realised how happy I was to actually be pregnant with a third earlier than we planned and to finally feel like this was the final piece to our family puzzle.

Cannot wait to welcome you to the clan, baby!

Also what is it with husbands reacting like this when you show them the test? “I dOn’T uNdErStAnD”🙄 He knew EXACTLY what it meant, this isn’t our first rodeo.

this being my third pregnancy in 3 years, it has been very different telling people we were pregnant again… not that everyone wasn’t happy for us. But considering at the start of the year, James and I both put on our 2026 Bingo Cards that we didn’t want to get pregnant this year, it was a surprise to most when we told them come March.

But after taking longer to get my head around the news myself, we’ve both realised that it’s actually better timing than what we had planned.

🫶 I’ve always loved the idea of kids growing up close together
🫶 We’ve both agreed that we’d like to stack the “nappy/sleep deprived” stage rather than get out of with one child only to restart all over again with another
🫶 I’ve enjoyed pregnancy and babies, but postpartum is mentally very hard and part of me is very very excited to officially be on the other side of it, knowing I can start putting in plans and roots again with a career and my own identity beyond motherhood

So come November 2026, our family of 4 will be a family of 5 and that feels very complete to me.

But also… we’re going to need a bigger boat (car) 🚙

I consider myself even more fortunate than you because not only have I never lived a day of this life without you by my side (youngest child benefits), but because I get to be on the receiving end of your love.

can’t believe my 2.5yo is officially out of his cot and in a big boy bed now🥺💙🛏️
