You are not the best thing you did this year.
And you are not the worst thing you did this year.

Most of us live somewhere in between.

Rosh Hashanah gives us a moment to look honestly at who we’ve been, and decide who we want to become.

A new year doesn’t erase the last chapter.
It gives us a chance to write the next one with more intention.

Send this to someone you’re grateful to be entering the new year with. ❤️

In Israel you get to experience miracles every day. Yesterday I sat down for lunch in Jerusalem with a man who gives away $24,000 a day.

Meet Dr. Jonathan Donath DC, MS - Dr. Jonathan Donath, the Founder of Daily Giving

Before the meal had even ended, someone walked past our table, recognized Jonathan, and stopped to say hi. His wife was with him. She’d literally gotten off the plane five hours in the country and made Aliyah.

Turns out she doesn’t just live in my neighborhood, we’re neighbors!

90 minutes later, walking back toward my apartment, Jonathan stopped again, literally froze with his mouth wide open because we ran into the wife of one of his teachers from yeshiva.

It was pretty unreal.

Six degrees of separation is a Western idea, but Israel runs on about one and a half.

And I’ve started to think that’s not just a fun quirk of living here. It’s something deeply deeply meaningful that lets you see so clearly how Hashem is everywhere.

And when nobody is fully a stranger, trust moves at a speed I’ve never seen anywhere else in the world.

Which brings me to why I was at that lunch.

Jonathan Donath runs Daily Giving | Charity . The model is almost absurdly simple: you give one dollar a day, and every single day 100% of it goes to a different vetted charity, with no overhead taken out.

Mire than 24,000 people are already a part of it (including myself), across 51 countries, and he’s given away more than $34 million given so far.

If you care about Tzedaka then you need to be a part of this and you need to meet Jonathan.

Wishing everyone a miraculous and joyous week ahead!

In the middle of the desert, we found a wine bar.

מדבר יין - Desert Wine Bar sits right on the edge of the Ramon Crater in Mitzpe Ramon, and every bottle they pour comes from the Negev and the Arava. Nothing from anywhere else.

Gabriel, the owner, did our tasting himself and told us something I did not know. This year the Negev was officially recognized as its own wine region, the same kind of protected designation as Champagne or Napa. It is the first desert wine appellation in the world.

Three hundred days of sun. Almost no rain. Freezing nights. Salt in the ground. It is one of the hardest places on earth to grow wine grapes, and that is exactly why these wines taste the way they do. The vines fight for everything out here, and you can taste it in the glass.

Every single wine we tried was delicious. We sat outside as the sun went down, live music playing, and honestly it felt like Gan Eden.

Sixty wineries. A million bottles a year. In a desert that was supposed to stay empty.

Go early. Stay late. And bring someone you love.

We drove down to Mitzpe Ramon for Ben’s birthday.

It’s a town with 5,843 people, perched on the edge of a crater, 2.5 hours south of our apartment in Jerusalem.

It started in 1951 as a camp for the crews building Highway 40, but then route 90 opened in the late sixties, and all the traffic to Eilat stopped coming through.

The town spent decades as one of the poorest places in the country.

And still people stayed.

Somebody opened Lasha לשה רוח אפייה in 2007 and is still making the best mochas and fresh baked Challas!

There’s also a magical wine bar called Midbar Yain מדבר יין - Desert Wine Bar that has wines from all across the Negev desert.

And at some point the whole town agreed to swap out every streetlight for a low glow system so residents could see the Milky Way from their own street. It’s the only town in Israel that has done it.

None of that was given to anyone. Somebody decided, and then kept deciding, through all the years it would have been easier not to.

Building a life here has taught me so many beautiful things. You don’t move to Israel and receive a new life. You decide on one and you build it here.

Thank you Hashem for a country where nothing is ordinary and everything is a miracle.

Even some of my closest friends only know half of this 👇

In 2020, I left my glassblowing business and started a marketing business with no plan beyond figuring it out in public.

A year later, my TikTok had grown to 2.2 million followers, but it hadn’t really helped my business.

Then I started doing consulting work with startups and 4 of them that I worked with failed in dramatic ways that I learned crucial lessons from.

In 2022 I packed up, got in an RV, and spent a year on the road across the U.S., connecting with small businesses, reading 40+ books, and evolving dramatically as a human.

In 2024, I began community building as a service and added it to what I offer. I also started building out entire marketing and sales systems.

Since then I’ve helped my clients generate over $80M in added revenue.

In March of this year, I made Aliyah and moved my family to Jerusalem. A few months later, I launched the content studio, with my husband as the head editor, which is the vehicle for everything I’d learned about brands, systems, and media, now built to serve organizations and founders who share my values.

So now I’m re-introducing myself 👋

I’m still building in public, but my business is the largest it’s ever been and I’m going into uncharted territory!

It’s VERY exciting, higher stakes, and higher reward.

I’ve also never been more confident about my ability to succeed, create value, and win in business.

A huge part of my growth has been my spiritual journey of becoming more Torah observant and orienting my entire life towards serving Hashem.

Send this to someone who is always complaining about the heat.

An Israeli company created the solution we’ve all been waiting for.

Hey Nostromo Energy can I get one for my apartment? 😁🙏🥰🇮🇱

Thank you Hashem for your kindness endures forever.

The nation of Israel lives.

A few things that aren’t in the video:

There’s a garden out back with a pergola, ask for it when the weather’s good.

The bathroom tiles are original William Morris, from the building itself. Go look.

Gluten free scones are available if you ask.

The shelves aren’t just decoration, the china and teapots are for sale.

Kumkum Tea House was a hummus bar until a lawyer who lived next door bought the building because he’d always wanted a tea shop. He brought in Elisheva Levy, from Manchester, to run it and do the baking. It opened in 2021.

Kosher Tzohar. 23 Derech Beit Lechem, Baka.

It’s the first day of Elul, and I want to start the month by giving.

For the next 29 days, I’m giving tzedakah to a different Israeli charity or nonprofit every single day. One a day, except for Shabbos, all month long. Big ones, small ones, the ones everyone knows and the ones nobody’s heard of yet.

Here’s where I need you!

Share your favorite Israeli charity or nonprofit in the comments. The one you give to every year. The one that changed something for your family. The one you volunteer with and wish more people knew about.

I’ll be reading every comment and giving to as many as I can this month.

Am Yisrael Chai 💙
