The Public Relations Council of Alabama and the Public Relations Student Society of America at UAB is a student based organization that seeks to transition public relations students from a college atmosphere to a professional atmosphere.

The PRCA/PRSSA at UAB chapter has received the UAB Student Excellence Award in the Outstanding Student Organization category. This honor recognizes the positive impact our chapter has made in our community through hard work and a commitment to excellence. We are honored to receive this award from UAB and look forward to continued involvement and service to our university and our community.

PRCA/PRSSA at UAB is hosting a field trip to the nationally-renowned Legacy Museum in Montgomery on October 21st. This opportunity allows members to spend time with their peers and learn about the perseverance of African Americans through America's history. September is recognized as Ethics Month by the Public Relations Society of America. Join the PRCA/PRSSA at UAB chapter for our monthly meeting on September 27th from 10:15 -11:15 a.m. in Room 227, Heritage Hall. Our guest speaker will be PRCA Vice Chair Mark Dvorak. Mark is a career long PRCA/PRSSA member and is currently in his fifth year of serving on the PRSA Board of Ethics and Professional Standards. This event will allow members to take part in an interesting discussion that will give you key insight to becoming a ethical professional.

The PRCA/PRSSA at UAB chapter would like to take a moment to remind everyone of the professional values that ethical public relations practitioners consistently strive to uphold, in observance of PRSA's annual ethics month.

As ethical professionals, we must always advocate for our clients and organizations whom we serve. We must maintain honesty in all of our work endeavors and promote transparent communications for our client and the public. We must continue to develop professionally as we research new changes in our field and expand our network of relationships in the pursuit of expertise. We must remain independent as we provide professional, objective advice to our clients and hold ourselves accountable for any missteps. We must remain loyal to our clients and treat everyone fairly at all times.
