Gdańsk (Polish: Gdańsk (inf.) [ˈgdaɲsk], Kashubian: Gduńsk, Latin: Gedanum, Dantiscum, in 1308–1466 and 1793–1945 was called Danzig, German: Danzig) is a city in northern Poland, the sixth most populous in strane (486,022 inhabitants, 2021 h). Together with neighboring Sopot and Gdynia, it forms the agglomeration of Three Cities - "Three Cities" with a total population of 747,637 inhabitants (2017).

Gdańsk is a major port on the Baltic Sea, a center of industry, in particular petrochemical and mechanical engineering (developed shipbuilding and ship repair).
