Getting Reviews Removed From Google
An attorney client of mine recently received a 1-star Google review. My client never heard of the woman who submitted the review. Furthermore, the review was regarding what the woman referred to as an unsuspecting man who paid thousands of dollars in attorney fees who accepted a plea deal and the allegations against him were false and there was no evidence.
At my client's directive, I posted a response making it clear that my client did not know this woman. Also pointed out that given the statement she made, this situation could never unfold as she indicated it did. Included a link to "Plea Agreements — Court Rule."
I have tried to get negative Google reviews for clients removed in the past with no luck. I decided to try again. I logged into my client's account (which I manage) and flagged the review as inappropriate. The next day the review was gone. I think it made a difference that there was a response to the review that clearly demonstrated the review was a "Fake Engagement." Per Google, "contributions to Google Maps should reflect a genuine experience at a place or business. Fake engagement is not allowed and will be removed."
