Fake domain renewal notices are a common trick scammers have been using to target businesses. They send letters that look legitimate but have nothing to do with your actual domain provider. If you pay, you’re handing money over to a fraudulent company — and receiving no service in return.

Here’s how to protect yourself and your business:
✔ Check the sender carefully. If it’s not from your domain provider, it’s likely fake.
✔ Look for red flags. Fake invoices often use vague or misleading language, like "domain listing" instead of "domain registration."
✔ Verify before paying. Log in to your actual domain registrar account to confirm if your domain renewal is due.
