Blue’s ArtHouse is proud to reveal our latest website project for Open Door Animal Sanctuary, a no-kill shelter in House Springs, Missouri. We have worked with Open Door Animal Sanctuary (ODAS) for many years and just love this colorful new redesign for their website. ODAS provides loving care and homing services for homeless cats and dogs in the St. Louis area. They take in and adopt out over 1,000 cats and dogs every year. https://odas.org/

This most interesting church building was actually directly behind the house I grew up in so I was so tickled when the pastor contacted me about a new website. I always loved the unique pyramid shaped sanctuary and beautiful stained glass windows. This is a simple, informational website for a small neighborhood church. HALLELUJAH!!!! THE SERVER IS WORKING AGAIN!!!!

Everything has been back online and working correctly for the past two hours. I am cautiously optimistic that the trouble is over. HostGator tech support sent a message about a bot attack causing the outage but I honestly don't know if that is true. We have security in place to prevent that from happening so it is unlikely. But anyway we are all back in business, thank goodness. I am continuing to migrate all websites to the new server as fast as possible. Thanks again for being so understanding!!

Just a quick note to let you know that websites on the old server at HostGator have been going up and down this morning. This is actually good news because it tells us two things... First of all they are indeed working on the server (I was seriously beginning to doubt that they were doing anything), and second of all that all the data is intact.

So I am very hopeful now that they will be able to get this fixed, hopefully soon, and everyone's websites will be back online.

Even after they do get the server running again, I am still going to continue migrating everyone to the new server. HostGator has definitely lost my future business.

I'll keep you posted. Thanks again for being so patient. (Thank you to everyone who has sent me encouraging notes!)

Hello Everyone,
I have begun migrating websites to our new dedicated server at BlueHost. The first website migration was finished early this morning and is now waiting for their domain name redirect to complete. I am now working on the next website and will continue to migrate websites over to the new server as quickly as possible. It does take time to upload all of the site files and for the domain name redirection to complete. I will contact you when I begin migrating your website. I am moving higher traffic and crucial services sites first. Please let me know if you have upcoming events or promotions and need your website moved forward in the line.

In the meantime I will continue contacting HostGator tech support about the old server. They promise me that they are working on it and I must "kindly wait a little longer." But I am not able to get any details no matter how much I insist. I am extremely unhappy about how terrible their support service has become. I pay for a dedicated server, which means that I own the entire server. It isn't a shared or even a virtual private server. The entire server is dedicated only to my customers' websites. These are very expensive and when I signed onto HostGator back in 2018 they had a special support team just for dedicated server clients. Their service was fantastic for many years. Last year they evidently outsourced all of their tech support and discontinued the separate dedicated server support. Their service has continued to decline since then.

I am very excited about the new dedicated server at BlueHost and will continue working as hard as I can to get everyone moved as fast as possible. I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but I am so sorry for this downtime. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding!

Hello Everyone,

It has become clear to me that the support service of my current hosting company (HostGator) has declined to an unacceptable level. Even if/when they get our server back online, I am still going to need to move all of my customer websites over to a new hosting provider. I am not waiting for the 48 hour mark as I said in my last email; I am beginning this process right NOW. I have been researching today and have selected the best option. I have just purchased a new a dedicated server at the new company (BlueHost). I am setting up the new server right now and will begin moving websites to the new location tonight. This is not a quick process, but I will work as fast as I possibly can. I am starting with websites that have the highest traffic and most crucial services. I will contact you when I begin migrating your website. I am still hoping that HostGator will get my current server working soon. But I am moving all websites to the new server regardless. I will keep you posted. Thank you so much for your understanding!

I am so terribly sorry about this extended down time. I just contacted tech support once again. I have not been able to get much information from them yet and this is beyond frustrating.

I want to make sure everyone knows that I keep three separate backups of all customer website files and databases:

On-site backup
Offsite backup service
Daily backups of everything on my server.

In case of an unrecoverable disaster, I would be able to set up your website again with another hosting service. This has never happened before in the 26 years I've been in business and I am hoping it will not ever happen! But if it does, I have everything in place to move all of my customer websites to another hosting location.

I have been using this hosting service for many years and have been really happy with their service but it does seem that their service may be declining. It appears that they outsourced their tech support last year and I have seen other worrisome changes such as lengthening response times. And then back in August, the entire company apparently went down which I've never seen happen before in the past 26 years.

I have had to change hosting services a few times in the past and would rather not have to do that again. But I will if my current service is no longer able to provide reliable service. If it reaches the 48 hour mark (1pm tomorrow) I will begin setting up websites with another service. This is not a quick process but I will work as fast as I can. I will begin with websites that have higher site traffic and more crucial services. Hopefully this will not be needed. I will keep everyone posted.

I apologize again for this trouble. Thank you for your patience.
