I worked for an agency that put money over people🥴

I started to get the itch to leave and lead my own team that was rooted in integrity and honesty. But the pivotal moment for me was when George Floyd was murdered.

A lot of us in the company were struggling mentally during that time and the way it was handled and the things that were said internally really saddened and angered me😪

But also confirmed a couple of things:
I had to do things differently
I wanted to work with clients who were great human beings - i didn’t want an agency that only qualfier was the prospects ability to afford our services
I wanted to build a team that cared about people
I wanted a diverse team AND client roster
I wanted black women to win in the workplace and in their business

🥳So I launched and have grown tremendously in business, life, and relationships. Protect your peace at all times, nothing is worst than compromising your mental health for a job. Do what's best for you and it will ALWAYS be the right thing.

5️⃣ Ways to Learn About Your Target Audience

1) Online Forums. People are asking the questions they need YOU to answer through content

2) Facebook Groups. A huge group of people interested in the same things having conversations? Jack pot.

3) Analyze your competitors. Checking to see who follows them gives you a good idea who will be interested in you as well.

4) Your Analytics. This is a cheat code. Your insights tells you the age range of your audience, the time they’re online the most, what content they like the most

5) Create a Persona. Once you’ve done steps 1-4, give life to this audience. If you had to build a person, how old would they be? What are they interested in? What are their hobbies? Occupation?

I can only do so much…

I’ve realized this past month that I can do all the things i’m supposed to do and somebody will find it lacking.

That was a tough pill for me to swallow (in my biz life) - it almost feels like a slap in the face when I’ve poured my all into a situation, hoping for a positive outcome 🤦🏿‍♀️

But the reality is that we only have control over what we do, not how our efforts/actions are received by someone else.

Judging my efforts by the reaction of someone else had me taking responsibility for more than i had control over.

I kept feeling like “maybe if i had just done more”

And don’t get me wrong, reflecting and being accountable is how we grow (see previous post)

but if we’re taking responsibility for everyone’s behavior, where does that leave room for them to be accountable and to grow?

When do you truly appreciate all you have poured into it? All your efforts?

Again, this is not me encouraging you to ignore your growth lessons in every situation but I’m encouraging you (& myself) to:

✨Be patient with yourself
✨Recognize all the amazing things you’re doing
✨Accept your limitations
✨Ignore the noise (because some of it really is just that)

I can only do much and today accept that that’s enough🤎
